Hi every1. I was thinking about opening a hydro store. Just a small one for the home grower. The shops in my city in Australia seem over priced and a bit shabby. There are 3 shops in my area, 1 seems always busy and is amied at mj growers. it has been in business for about 6 years. The second shop also sells beer making equipment and has been open ever since i can remember. All though this shop never seems to be busy. The third shop is aimed at veggie growers but also sells a few items in the mj category. This shop has been open for about 10 years.

2 of the shops are located on main roads and the busyiest shop is located in an industial estate. I dont know whether to open up near these shops or a few suburbs away. Any sugestions?

I would also like to know where your local hydro shop is located. Is it near factories/industial estate, on a main road or near other shops. do they have rear parking or rear pick ups.

I think some of these shops are making some decent cash. I have also never seen a hydro shop close down before have you?

Please i would like to hear from people and your thoughts thanks.

Have you heard about all the new regulations for Australia concerning grow/hydro shops. If not you may want to look into this.

i have'nt heard about any regulations. how would i find out if there are regulations

Ewww I just read that story..... I used to think Australia was pretty cool, had harsh laws on pot, but cool anyway....

That's depressing.

Crazy, I was just offered to buy out my buddys Hydro store last nite!
We had a pretty long convo about it, as he is planning on moving back east in October.

What the HELL are you waiting for?

I was offered to a hydro store over the summer but did not have the 20k to buy it out 3/4's..

Kicking the crap out of myself now because the dud who works there now is a COMPLETE IDIOT who gives the WORST growing advice I have ever heard...

worse than yours Hal...

100 point id check. wonder what that involves? (don't really want to know). sounds as if you aussies are heading into a police state of mind on your commerce. that sucks. draconian laws come to mind here. sorry...bb...

dont be ragging on Hal.

and do you have the knowledge to open up a hydro store?
not saying you dont of course, just wondering.
because im sure you will be asked a vast amount of questions.
wishing you all the luck i can though bro.

i live in the capital of canada, as far as i know there are about 4-5 hydro stores. i go to a place thats like 10-15 min drive from my place.
its on a semi quiet road thats off of a busy street.
the other shops are in different parts of the city. but i find whenever i call them they give me way better advice. i like my hydro store, but i find the guy working it to be a bit strange. i feel like i cant stand there and think when im buying stuff there.

Waiting for October man!. BUT, I would have to slow down mt gardening habits bro, which I LOVE to do.

Funny story, the cat that offered me the grow store has only been in the scene maybe 6-7 years, and I was the one that showed him the scene. He was Captain of the Redbud train up until then.
So, out of respect, he gave me first shot.

Don't worry man, deals for everyone if I do pursue it!

Love the advice comment! Thanks for the smile this morning u bastid!:)
