With all the hype I get from these boards and others about hxxp://htgsupply.com, I figured their service would be much more timely. I also understand that they have other orders to fullfill, etc. And it's only been a week since I placed the order, granted, but I ordered 1 item. It took them 3 days to ship said item, and because of this, instead of my fan being here today when I got off work to get my closet back into proper working order, I have to wait through the weekend until Monday. Each ticking moment that goes by, I risk my landlord stopping by the complex. Without the fan I cannot close my door and expect my plants to live. The temperatures get up to as high as 100 degrees if left closed for prolonged periods without the fan going. So, if I'm at work and he needs in my apartment to fix someone else's water/electric, I'm hosed.

I'll still probably order from them in the future, but I certainly won't be if it's an emergency situation. I do a lot of online shopping, and have never had to wait 3 days for my order to be shipped. It has always been promptly done same day, if the order was placed within a certain time frame. If not, it was shipped out the following day. Definitely not impressed.

Dont take this the wrong way, but you probably should have ordered sooner.

The last time I ordered from them I was also disappointed.
Took them two days to prepare shipment. I ordered from them from their Pittsburgh warehouse and another from Cali and the Cali order got to me first. Pittsburgh is around 250 miles from me and 2300 miles from Cali, who would figure that one could get a pack from Cali faster then Pittsburgh?

I enjoy using

hXXp://www.plantlightinghydroponics.com/

Quick shipping and great customer service.

dman- I ordered Tuesday morning. They didn't ship until thursday night. As I said, anywhere else I've ever ordered from on the internet, once they get your money, they want they product gone asap so they have no more responsibilities for it, unless it's a warranty issue. 2 days isn't timely in processing an order. That's actually kind of assinine. Especially when I live 4 hours from the depot they shipped it from.

pcduck- Sounds like the PA depot is the issue! Thanks for the tip.

BWD- I just keep the door open for now. Keeps the closet down to 80 degrees and theyre just babies yet (grow journal thread in the grow journal forum). Have a fan blowin across em too.

:yeahthat:

Anything I order from most suppliers takes a bit of time to get, better than a week isn't out of the ordinary (more likely the norm). If I need it now, I know to go to the local store and suffer the higher prices.

2 days isn't timely in processing an order.

This seems about right to me as well, 2 days isn't that long.

Like Duck, I go with plantlightinghydroponics.bomb As long as you order by 1pm they ship that day.

Perhaps you're a little less expectant than I am. When I'm giving up my hard earned cash in exchange for someone's product, I expect timely service.

Timely, to me, is getting it sent out as soon as possible. Not taking your sweet time. In their industry, they don't have that many orders going out and performing quality control on the equipment they are selling doesn't take long. If it is, they need to re-evaluate who they're hiring. I used to do QC, and Shipping and Receiving for an electronics warehouse when I was younger. QC'ing numbers and letters that were about 1mm thick on transistors, capacitors, resistors, etc. That is time consuming.

I guess I just don't understand the issue. If you're a company, and you're taking someone else's money in exchange for a product, my guess is you'd want them to have that product as fast as possible, so they're happy and come back to do business with you again. I bet if I didn't have to pay for it until I had the product in my hands, I'd have had it on Thursday.

Wonder why they'd be in business at all, if this were the case?

Profit. The stuff they sell isn't worth what they sell it for. And I didn't mean to insinuate that they didn't have enough business to keep themselves afloat, or even expand. I'm simply saying that, per day, they don't have that many orders going out that it should interfere with their sending my 1 item.

You could be right, I am not a big buyer of anything online and have minimal experience. I ordered something the other day and it took until the next day before the order was processed, I didn't think much of it. On the other hand, I ordered from Attitude and they sent process info within hours, moved it to shipped shortly after. :)

Cross-posting this from my thread in the Lights forum. People are more apt to review based on a complaint than they are positive service, and being that I knocked HTG on my initial purchase, I wanted to share this with everybody in this thread, for whosoever happens to read it.

UPDATE
*****

I just sent the 4" fan back to HTG earlier this afternoon. The man on the phone misunderstood why I was sending it back. Basically, he thought I was making a return when I was making an exchange. Before I caught on that we were having a misunderstanding, he let me know since I was sending the refurb back within the 14-day warranty period and had already paid for the shipping myself (within the 14-day warranty period, the return shipping is covered by HTG), he was going to ship me back a brand new one to make up for my having to spend money on shipping within the warranty period. It didn't cross my mind that exchanges weren't covered by the warranty. Honest mistake, but I'd informed him I was trying to upgrade to the 6", to which he obliged sending it out, thinking something was wrong with the 4". When I let him know that I thought he misunderstood why I was sending it back, he informed me he was still going to send the brand new 6" out to me, as he'd already submitted the order. Can't complain, even if it takes 2 weeks to get here this time. Haha. Now I see where everybody's comments come from about their excellent service.
