Hey all I'm new here and would like to thank you all for each and every post I've been surfing the threads for a while now and with my LOWRYDER Number Two seeds on the way I will be starting to grow soon enough!

I plan to use CFL bulbs (Will 5000k work for veg?)

As of now i have some "Sta-Green" potting mix (with fertilizer) i know thats a No-No but its all the local store had other than MG which i hear is a sin if used haha i picked the soil i did because the NPK was .13-.04-.09 which is like a 13-4-9 i guess lol but i thought since they put it in decimals that it would have the least fertilizer.. but then i said isnt it a ratio? so IDK but i know nitrogen is good for the first stages of growing so atleast it has that.. Im also picking up a bag of perlite before the grow. Does anyone reccomend a good soil/perlite recipe? lol for lowryders? :hubba:

Ok, someone explain this to me. 5000k for lighting, what exactly does that mean? Is it 5000 Kilowatts? Cause thats a 50,000,000 watt CFL. I wish I knew where to find one of those. 5000 watts maybe? Well, thats enough for a small warehouse.

Maybe this guy is batsh1t, but I am just wondering what 5000k could stand for.....

5000 kelvin, its the color spectrum.
