I know most people say to use a 5 gallon pot for growing but if my plants don't even split a root from the seed till the 4th, would a 3 gallon pot work? I got a few of them laying around and was wondering if they would be too small or if this late start would make it ok? Also, anyone ever layed a tire on the ground and filled it with potting soil? Seems like it would be kinda cool cause it allows water to drain but it also allows the roots to go into the ground if they feel the need....

whenever i grow in pots i tend to give a gallon for each month the plant is going to be alive and it has worked well. bigger the better though.

i actually was wondering the same thing about the tires a coupla days ago...It seems like it would be ok, but i'm a bit of a newb on here
