I took a good hard look at some of those commercial products that people pay big bucks for. And I don't see why they cannot be equalled at a fraction of the cost. The N and the K are too easy, and the minerals likewise, so I have started by making a pure bloom nute, only P.
I took some 90% phosphoric acid and neutralised it with calcium carbonate (chalk) to form calcium phosphate. This should be 0-23-0. I tried it on one of my tomato plants yesterday (I have identical ones being fed MG 15-30-15, so I used three times the quantity of calcium phosphate, as if I were feeding 0-69-0)
If results are good I'll make two different batches, one for veg and one for flower.
