HID CFL`s 18000K!

has anyone ever saw or heard about the "high intensity discharge" cfl`s?
their light spectrum is high in the blue region but at 18000K.
give me a shout if anyone has used these lights previously or present.
they come in 25w and 15w only (well that`s all i`ve found)

sorry man, no link i can show you. I`ve bought this bit of equiptment allready and was just wondering what everyone else thought of this type of lighting.......??:smoke1: :stoned: :smoke1:

That spectrum seems pretty far away from what most people use. I don't know that you'll get much input from folks who have used this. You'll be the first! I don't know that I would use *just* this bulb, but maybe use it to supplement other CFLs. I would be interested to see what kind of results you get with this.

yeah man i`ve had little reply from this.
i`m using one 15w and a 25w just to get the seedlings established then i`ll move these ones to my flowering area, to my 400w HPS/MH set-up.
i`ll be using the HID cfl`s for the clones from the females in flower, to keep the cycle going.
here`s one of my hopefull females on her 4th day today

I think those lights are made for indoor coral reefs or something like that. Are those seedlings in the picture under the super blue CFL's? Because the light looks full spectrum in the picture. They must have been expensive, no?

yeah they`re for promoting "coral reef" growth, strong in the blue spectrum, but they do cover virtually all the spectrum except they are a little weak in the far red.
the 25w cost £13.49, the 15w £10.49.(only had ballast for the 15w and 25w)
