hi all - noob with questions

hello everyone

i've been doing a lot of research on home growing so i thought i'd join for when questions arise. i'm a college age kid and am finally living in a place i feel secure and safe enough to start up a few plants for personal use. i'm still not sure exactly what kind of lights to get, or where, and i'm also not sure what i need as far as odor control. i have looked at various carbon filters but what size would i need for a small closet with say 3 plants? and does anyone know what kind of stores to look for these in? i really hate ordering things off the internet.

i hate ordering too,
soo depending on how much money you can spend on lights, i would say Get a HPS. If that is too pricy. then go to home depot, and buy some CFL lights to get you started. do some research on CFL bulbs. They are Cheap to buy, Cheap to use, and work rather well.
Home depot, will have alot of your growing needs, also a good hydro store is a good place for soil and nutes.
