As you lot can probably remember i posted a little while ago about my first plant and its come on since.
However after following the advise (and yes shes still alive) its been into flowering for about 9 weeks. I still have the brown leaf problem starts at tip then after time whole leaf dies and it has been flushed and no nuts added since. I also reduced the watering time right down to only a few days as suggested.
I have attached some new pics now , and well could you help me solve the leaves issue , and how well do you think she is doing.
How advanced into the flowering stage does it look?.
Thanks again peeps.

As a guess, I'd say it's:

Your plant seems a little stretchy, which hints that maybe it's not getting enough light. This might also explain the small buds (unless it's a long-flowering sativa, I would expect them to be larger at 9 weeks flowering).

Also I noticed you have tinfoil over the soil. I think it was Stoney who once explained that, when a plant gets light hitting the underside of it's leaf, this will encourage stretching, since it assumes it's competing with other plants that are growing too close.

:)

it looks like some space between nodes, lighting definitely looks too be on the low side. whats ur lighting?

its a 125w invirolite , and 5x100w daylight bulbs , and a fishtank lamp.

Unfortunatly thats all the light i can supply to it due to budget and this being a experiment.

I kinad figured the buds where small , how can I make them bigger.

would maybe fitting a 200w envirolite do better and maybe change it to a red one?. I dont think the extra 75w will make that much of a impact.

Do you think its to late to add more now in the stages.

Also unfortunatly all the stems have buds on , can I cut the bud off to clone it or do I have to leave it on and force it back into veg state.

I dont know if adding more light will make that much of a difference so late in flowering but you seem to have a somewhat decent light setup maybe they were just too far away from the lights.... Honestly i dont hink the buds will get that much bigger by now but i could be wrong..

ohh thats a real shame , guess just let them mature for a bit then.

What should I do to make a cutting.
all the nodes have buds on. Can I just cut the bud off then root it , or do i need to keep it on and force it back into veg.

Remove buds when they are ready, then force back into veg state. The new growth will be ideal for cloning. Will take a few weeks in veg before taking the clones.

Ohh I didnt know that , so I can just snip the buds off , leave all leaves e.t.c then try and clone. Sounds like a plan although I dont think cloneing is going to agree with me ;).

Can you not wait for it to grow more , then force it back into flowering again. As people have said its very stretched which is something I cannot really do anything about now. If you cut the plant in 1/2 from the main stem will it form new nodes , and stop growing upwards , or will it eventually grow upwards again?.

The best thing to do Is to harvest the plant but leave some bud and leaves on it and switch back the light to 24/0 and the plant will revegg.

Do you think I should also cut the plant in half , to stop it stretching more so I can put the light right down on top of it?

Its a pitty about the buds probably only about 2 grams there.

when I am checking for the right time , the hairs turn 90% brown yea?.

the hairs dont turn colors til after you dry. the TRICHROMES will be first clear then cloudy then amber (not brown) I believe most people wait for 50% amber trichs to harvest

I dont think its going to stretch much now you are almost done, the hairs do turn red as it matures but is not the best way to tell if its done, the trichome method Thestandard spoke of is what you want to do.

I go 80/20

Are you reffering to the white powder stuff on the leaves. I would like to thank you lot for letting me in on what you know.

I have noticed a lot of white residue on the leaves now around the buds And it smells pretty potant.

Dont I need a mag glass to see what you was reffering to.

just wandering what kind of plants your growing if the hairs dont turn amber...i dont mess with the microscope, i personally like the old way, and the hairs DO turn red/brown...60-80% turn red/brown, then cut em down...and i've NEVER been disappointed in the quality.

A 'scope is absolitely crucial to view the ripeness/maturity of the trichomes.....AND viewing the trichomes is the only "effective" method of judging the proper harvesting/maturity time.
Here is a link that explains the life/maturity cycle in more detail.. http://www.marijuanapassion.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1938
