Hey so i was wondering if i could run MH and HPS bulbs off of this?

Just from that i would say no.

What type of outlet do HID units need? regular wall outlets?
if not, what is the best light for a wall outlet?

You can't run HPS or MH bulbs in the light you linked. From what i've read that light is only good for CFLs.

Most if not all light systems can be plugged into a regular outlet.

ALL HID lights require a ballast. The HID light plugs into the ballast (not the wall outlet). The ballast plugs into a regular wall outlet (most of the time, some are wired for 240V). Does that answer your question?

Yes, but actually a dryer plug in--washers run on 120. Most ballasts can be wired for either 120 or 240 (and other higher voltages that we don't have in houses).
