Help-picking out a reflector

so i've picked out my light. a 400HPS. and I had a reflector picked out but the dimensions are a tad large for my stealth grow i'm puting together. the box is going to be very close to 2' x 2' x 4'. the reflector i had picked out is 19" long and air cooled with a 6" opening. so attaching the 6" ducting on each side would be very tough to say the least given i only have 5" to work with total.

can anyone recommend an air cooled reflector that may be a little shorter, or use 4" ducting to cool? or if there are any ideas of a flexible/thin ducting that can be squeezed to fit in the desired space?

I know everyone here is very helpful and loves to share there ideas. I mean whats better than :ccc: and talking about our favorite past time?!?! I have other threads concerning other questions about this grow op posted on here and would very much appreciate it if I can get some help pick'n out this reflector. :clap: <===that is my appreciation in advance)

I would skip the air cooled hood and get a cool tube.
for 400W there about 5" long. lil pricy but takes up much less room than an aircooled hood.

OK.. you are looking at a grow area only 4 ft high... Take into account you container size and the fact that an open HPS 400 bulb will need approxiomately 18 inches of breathing room to not burm.....

I do not have an idea fo a reflector off the top of my head, but I beleive you will HAVE to run a cool tube..... If you have mylar and a way to mount your socket to the box.... Run your cool tube and coat your box with a good mylar.... No real huge need for a reflector them... Your 400 HPS bulb will put out about 50000 lumens, and you have 4 sqft of space.. ove 12K lumens pe foot..... way over target....but that is not a bad thing, IF you can control the heat.

MUTT--never seen a cool tube that size, that's perfect--if i ever get to the UK i'll :48: and we can eat some fish and chips or something

CG--the grow setup i'm doing is a lil dif. it's 4 ft long, and 2' X 2' (ish) i plan on putting the light on one end, and LSTing my plants to grow sideways. also, the 400HPS is for when i am able to upgrade my grow area. that and that whole "you can never have too much light" thing. also, the grow box will be angled on one end. the top will be 4' long, but the floor will be 5' long. that extra foot will be where my plants are and should give me about 3 ft of height (length) to work with. the reason for all this is mostly the stealth part. plants will be in a closet under steps. i got my seeds already (nirvana's white rhino and mauie wauie) but will probly start with a good bagseed since i paid retail for them @ $20 a pop. i just recently have become fed up with paying so much for pot and decided, why wait, i'm smart enough to pull off a stealth grow, carbon scrubbers and all. i hate it when roomates aren't pot-friendly.

I to am debating the cool tube issue. My grow room is "ABOUT" 4'X3'X6'. I barely make the lumen cut off for the 400watter. My response to you is look at the auto flowering plants available. They grow much smaller and much much faster. Be careful of the strains you get or you will run out out of room fast.keep it green

has anyone seen any short cool tubes to buy in the US? everything i find is 19" or 24" long.

i wish i had of originally went with cool tubes myself.if i had i could have used 2 tubes instead of one bigger reflector.more light,more lumens.
