Hi all, my plants have taken a turn for the worst.....
I have just flushed them through with ph 5.8 water for 36 hours. started feeding again with 1/2 strenghth nutrient mix (cf14) and ph 6. I am on day 17 of flower. temp in the growroom stays at 27oC and humidity 40%. The nutrient solution raised to cf15 when i checked today, so i added ph balanced water to bring it down to cf14. Any help would be cool.

kinda need a run down of what all you did the week before you flushed....

what was the day to day cf reading? and why (did plant call for it or you?)

how did you go about decide'n to start back at a cf of 14 (896 ppm)

if cf went up to 15 from 14 then 14 is still to high (try 13) and see if it will hold or drop from there, if it holds/drops then all is good but if it goes up then it will need to be lower yet

what nute's are you use'n and how is the water supply?

:48:

i am using a nft system, water is supplied through a pump to run over the roots. I fill a 80 ltr water butt and leave to stand for a week to get rid of the chemicals.
The plants were getting worse (more yellow) so i decided to flush out in case of lock out, but was staying at cf18/19
Ph has stayed at 6
The plants were fed just ph balanced water for 36 hours, then i filled the tank with cf14 strength nutes as i felt if it was lacking a certain nutrient in the plant i needed to get some in there!!
They are not growing as well as i would like, slightly stunted new growth.
I am using vita link nutes.
The situation has worsened a little since i took the pics, just need some advise on how to bring them back to health.

kinda needed better answers to my questions, but if new growth is stunted then more flush is needed.... might take a few more days on a water flush yet... from the pic's it's looks like you locked them pretty good to me...

if you do go back into flush mode keep track of the cf and see if it goes up on a water flush (plant would still be dump'n excess)

when new growth is green and looks nice from the water flush then it's time to start the ferts back up...

maybe stoneybud will drop in with some info as well (might just point him here) as I'm not to up on nft and the water cycle which could have something to do with it as well...

for now get back on a PH'd water flush....

off to get stoneybud :48:

Hey tokalicious, I got your PM and I'm dropping in to add my 1.5 cents.

Looks like a pretty bad burn.

I have a couple of questions that I need you to answer as fully as you can and with as much detail as possible.

I'm not familiar with vita link nutes, so if you would tell me how they are packaged, (different bottles you have to mix?), and what the full strength mix is.

Specifically, explain to me how you mix your nutes. Precisely how.

Those ladies could stand a full week of plain, non-chlorinated water. If you can get some RO water, that would be best.

Look carefully at your nutes instructions and see if there is a method of mixing them that is necessary. Some nutes require one part to mixed first, into plain water. With "Flora Series" nutes, it's the Micro Nutes that have to be mixed with plain water first.

With most multi-part nutes, this is a must. To do otherwise causes severe nute lockout.

Are you using ANY other additives?

Thanks man, I'll look for your answer later this evening and tomorrow morning.

(Hey HGB! Good seeing you man!)

Hi, thank you for getting back to me,

Vitalink is a + b 2 part mix (BOTH FOR GROW AND BLOOM)
Grow has 10.5.16 and bloom has 10.9.19
when adding the nutes i put part a in first then part b into water that has been standing for 1 week (80l) give it a good mix then ph balance it.

the boost nutes has a ratio of 0.36.24 and to be used on day 21 of flower (i am on day 22 and not used it yet).
Vita link is a complete food.( google it)

60ml part a & 60ml part b per 80l of water will give me a cf reading of 13.
it says on the bottle that the mix of part a & b need to be the same and does not give instructions on how to fix any problems.

I have tried to give you a full report as i can and I am stuck.

i have bought some epsom salts, but have not used yet? dont know if i need to and i dont want to put it in the tank if there is no need.

Any help would be cool.

keep tokin!!

Well, it looks like you've just given them more than that particular strain can handle then.

Each strain is different and the spectrum of tolerance is wide between strains.

I would suggest flushing your grow chambers with plain water for a full week and then using about half the strength that you were using. Watch the new growth and see how it grows.

The amount of damage on the plant can be reduced if you take any leaf that is half or more damaged off the plant. I only suggest this in extreme cases like yours.

That will enable the plant to stop wasting it's energy trying to heal those leaves and put more of it towards the new growth.

Good luck to you!
