New to this scene but so far definatly appreciating the tips and advice I'm reading. I just began the flowering cycle on my first indoor grow. I'm running two 3x3 flood trays under a 1000 W HPS using 4" containers and Hydroton. I was wondering how often should I be flooding the trays and for how long?

I have a variety of clones going...Holland's Hope, Romulan, Morning Star, Purple Cream, Mendo Purps, Purple Kush, Grand Daddy Purple, and Pinapple Kush. Just flipped them into flowering cycle today. Can't wait!!!

What up, welcome to MP lots of good people on the boards I'm sure someone can help you with your flood question but I bet if you posted the same question in the hydroponics section with a good thread title you would get some fast responses. I've never ran a flood tray myself but good luck to you.

Thanks I'll try that. I checked out your home built light setup. Very cool. You think the CFL works better than HPS? I'm sure it's more efficient but what about yield?

quick query i've started my first grow[indoors bout 2/3 weeks ago and yes i know its too early for nutes but i will need some and was just wondering what i'll need and where i'll get em i'm in uk so this probably makes it harder

Thanks for the props on the cfl hood. No way can CFL's outproduce an HPS though, I use a 400 watt HPS for flowering and a 400 watt metal halide for vegging. I'm going to switch back to CFL's for veg here very soon though as I was only using the MH to increase the amount of clones I can take from my mom's. I'll probably use the 400 MH and the 400 HPS at the same time for flowering and see if I can't grow some super buds.
