How hot is too hot. I have my room cleaned and the lights in for seedlings,3 64 watt cfls putting out 12600 lumens. I have a 600watt hps for flowering. I ran the cfls with 2 fans 1 intake, 1 exaust and the temp is at 85 with hum at 37%. Is this ok to start my grow? I have not germed any seeds yet I wanted to see what you all have to say. I will have pics in a few days.

95 is deadly 85 is a lil hot but will b ok as long as it gets cooler at nite
is it 85 all the time?

It cools of too 77 at night and the humd comes up to 45%

thats ok u realy want it 2 b at lower 80s upper 70s in the light and 15-20 deg cooler at nite but what u have will work

You need a much better ventilation system, because if you can not keep your temps at 72 with 12.600 lumens from cfl's when you spark up the 600w it will reach 500 degrees in your garden before you can blink an eye.

The first thing that anyone show do when starting a garden is make sure they have the proper ventilation system dowm to a T, and no if's or but's about it, its #1.

You can run your garden with the 600w on at 85 or 90 degrees BUT your co2 levels will need to be very high or your plants will die, not grow properly, give very poor yield's, etc. If you can not deliver your plants very high co2 levels at higher temps you will need to keep your garden with the 600w on at 75 to 78 degrees max for optimum results in your garden, but you will still need plenty of ventalation then to, you need a much larger exaust fan.

1 more thing high heat, and poor air circulation = paradise for bugs and you dont want bugs. Do You?

Do yourself a favor and do not germ your seed untill you can run your 600w at a steady 75 or 78 degrees max, then you can germ your seed because you know you will not kill your garden due to heat, and trust me it will happen.

Thanks guys I will increase the size of the fans and look into getting a small a/c. I will keep you posted and have pics in a few days. Thanks for the help everyone. What would you recomend to use to regulate the co2?

You dont need a co2 tank + regulator you need BIG fans blowing air out and BIG fans blowing air in, osciliating fans blowing the air around, its that simple. Buy a temperature control device I use the CAP temperature control they are excellent and very acurate on keeping the temps the way they should be plug your exaust fan on the device, set the device for 75 day and 70 at night with a 3 degree diferential and and is it.

Emulated, my growcab is constanly in the high 90's during light hours, sometimes over 100 with no ill effects yet. Week 7, big, stinky, bushing like crazy, starting to bud. 9 out of eleven seeds female. One hermaphrodite, one male. Have not lost one plant yet. I would prefer to have temps in the 80's but they are in an 11ga steel box, only so much you can do with hidden grows sometimes...
Humidity stays around 20% all the time. Not rot, bugs, or wilting. I have one large fan blowing in the bottom and one high speed fan exiting the roof of the cab. Sometimes you can't achieve perfection, but they will grow anyway!
I wouldn't sweat 90 at all, but thats me, and I'm oldskool tried and true.

Plants will NOT grow anywhere 'near' their potential at 90+ degrees.. "no ifs and or buts" about it. It is botanical fact that temps between 70 and 80 are "ideal" for mj . High temperature and low humidity are an ideal breeding environment for mites and other pests.
When I started growing in the late70's, all that we had at our disposal were "bag seeds". I've grown plants that would rival anything that I've grown from the 'designer named' strains from them(bag seeds).
"BUT".... that was before all of this "femminisation" craze, and unconscientious breeding of hermies. Which "I" believe is at least partially to blame for the high ratio of hermie plants we're seeing today. "THAT" IMO is the biggest threat growing bagseed today. The threat of hermies.
A seed taken from mediocre weed, grown uder 'less than ideal' conditions, and cultivated under ideal conditions, will produce a better product, than the weed it came from...IME.
Or, a bagseed grown in perfect environment, will/may even produce a better product, than a "killer" strain grown in poor environment.

That is every interesting, That you can take a less than perfect strain and grow it in better condtions than the mother and come out with a better product. For my first grow I think I will try this and see what happens. I will keep a very good log and make improvments to it from there. The people on this site offer such great info it helps so much
