For some, the holidays are a time for celebration. For others, it is the worst of all time, especially for abused and homeless kids. Holidays are symbolic. Parents who beat their kids get so loaded that they hit harder.
I've never known of, however, a parent who was high on marijuana beating up her/his kids because he or she was high. The same sure can't be said of alcohol or meth. I am so glad this holiday is over! Holidays, including trick or treat, seem to trigger the worst behaviors in the worst of people. At least that is my perception from the thirty-five years that I've worked with troubled kids.
I saw a guy today on CNN who was being interviewed about his club in Colorado. I thought that it was kinda funny that he was wearing a suit and tie. He looked as straight as an arrow. He said that the club had a DJ. Instead of writing science fiction as Rarity from the Hollow, maybe I should cut my hair, move to Colorado, and try to raise money for abused kids from that angle. It seems that hardly anybody knows what a hollow is.
Happy new year everybody.
