Hello all. I am in need of your expertise. I have a old wood shed on my property, that I am planning to grow in. Well, I've been cleaning it out and have discovered alot of rotten pieces wood with mold on it. And I have found some of the walls have a little dark colored mold on them also. Is there anything to be alarmed about? I am in N.Ca Tehama County where we have very hot Summers and wet Winters.

Hello my friend and welcopme to MP:48:

I grow in a wood shed out back as well...be sure to clean it real well...Bleach is your friend right now:aok: what size are we working with? what is your end goal? what have we got to get started? How well is the insolation and roof? does it leak? where did the mold come from? okay lets start there shall we..???

:bong:

Thanks for your response. The shed is 176 sqft. But I'm only going to use 100 sqft. As well what I have is nothing, i'm still in the infant stages of this grow. Once I get it cleaned I will make a materials list and begin constuction. I plan to use a 1000w Metal Halide for my vegetaion Room and a HPS 1000W for the Budding /flowering room. There is no insulation in the walls. This is an unfinished shed built by the prior owner. When I sheetrock the inside, I will install some R-19. The roof is in good shape accept for an absence of a drip edge on one side, that is where the roof has mold and the wall has it also. Nothing I can't fix. The wood that was stored in it had mold and some fungus growing on it. What are your guys thoughts so far.

sounds like you have the construction part down. so ur going 2 have 2 5x 10 rooms each w/ a 1k light? why not use floros for veg & use your 2 1000w lights for flower. you wont regret it! one 1k light for 50sqft is skimping if you ask me.

Do you have power out there? Is it adequate for your purposes? Also, a 1000W is only going to be good for about 25-28 sq ft.

Sorry, I was'nt specific. I don't plan on useing all 100 sqft to grow, just 50sqft for now. But as for flores instead of MH, which Is what I had planned to do in the first place. Until reading something, somewhere and can't remember where now. Hate when that happens. Flores would save some money for other materials. Flores it is!!!

Goddes, there is a 50 amp breaker going to the shed. I hope this is enough.

Thanks 4u2sm0ke, docfishwrinkle and The Hemp Goddess for your responses.:D

Yes, 50 amps should handle your needs just fine.

I run a 1000W HPS for flowering, but use T5s for vegging, even though I own 2 400W MH. You might want to rethink the MH (or remember why you decided to go with it in the first place:D )
