Getting my plants to show sex??

I've had my now healthy plants on 12/12 light for three days now, and I'm still not getting sex from them. How long does this usually take? I know I'm probably just being impatient, but I am ready to start getting some good bud after all of my months of trying!

Also, I am a little confused as to cloning. :holysheep: I am trying to sex the plants on 12/12 but I still want to veg them afterward so that I can clone. Is it going to be a problem to turn them back to 24/0 after sexing or should I just keep them on 12/12 so that they can bud and just keep the clones in veg? I have read so many things saying that you should not take clones from flowering plants. What is the best course of action here?

It takes a couple of weeks sometimes. 3 days is way too early to tell.
I ussually cloned from the plant in veg. and flowered the clones. That way the donor plant never sees the stress of 12/12 and revegging. You will lose a month at least reverting her back.

clones in flower take longer to root.

i waited 10days b4 mine showed white hairs..there are charectoristics to look for to help determin the sex..one is if its short and bushy its usually a sign of female vs tall strechy = male...again this is IMO...goodluck bud

Is it possible to clone without cloning gel and cloning solution? I'm REALLY short on cash at the moment and I won't be able to buy any cloning gel for close to a month. The grow guide that I have talks about how to clone with a hydro system, not a soil system. I have MG transplant starting solution, and it says it works on clones.

If I clone the plant and place the clone in 12/12 light to show sex and flower then what is the best way to do it? I don't have a hot bed or anything like that... should I just take the cutting and use the transplant solution to start the clone, but plant it in soil and let it just take root?

I was also wondering: If I put a bit of rubber tubing under the soil with an air pump hooked up to it would that help the clone take root faster? I figure, if I pump enough oxygen into the soil it should root faster. Am I right or wrong on this?

Yes, but everyone says not to let the light get exposed to water. So, my idea was to put the clones in water with mylar over the top of the container with just a hole small enough to let the clone come through the top. Then, putting some air tubing in the water so that it bubbles like a hydro system so that the roots grow faster. But, after that, can you still put it in soil and the plant will be okay after you take away the airflow to the roots? That's what I really need to know now. I have taken two of my hydro plants out of the dro system and put them in soil and they are fine, but I still wonder about the clones, since they are a bit more delicate.

P.S. I have put my other plants on 24/0 and decided to take some clones instead... that way I can still keep my moms... if indeed they are moms.

my plants showed female at 6 days of 12/12 but have not produced much more white hairs yet. just make sure when its dark in the growroom it is black as hell. no light leaks coming in and she'll show her genitals for ya!

Yes. Once your cutting roots, you can plant it in soil and it will be fine. Also, you can use the same method and put your clone under 12/12 to sex the donor before it even has roots.

So I can put the clone under 12/12 while I've got it in the bubble cloner and it'll show sex before roots develop? Interesting to know. Think I'll try it with my next cutting.
