Prior to meeting my now wife, I was more of a cat person. Cats are gravy to deal with, they require little attention and you can take off for at least a week at a time so long as they have enough food, water and clean litter. My wife has had a dog since we were dating (Grover). Once we purchased a house and some land I was a little jealous of her dog always cuddling with her and my cat always giving me the stank eye.

That led me to asking her about getting a new pup for me. I was searching for dogs within my budget and then became firm on getting a Rotty. The majority of them in the Mid-West go for around $1500-2500 depending on lineage. I found one person with one female pup left that they couldn't sell and she was being sold for $400 with papers or $300 without papers.

I don't care if my dogs are AKC certified so I instantly messaged the dude and drove to Ohio to pick her up. She was so cute and fragile. This person was running a puppy mill. After I took her to the vet she had hook worms, giardia and was malnutritioned. It took months to sort all this crap out and years to finally get her guts stabilized and stool softened. She is three now and just went to be spayed.

I like to think that I saved her life from this ****** bag breeder. Both Grover and Capt Knuckles were adopted from the Humane Society but a Rotty is a dog you should buy as a pup so you can train it IMO because they get set in their ways fast if not corrected early. She's my baby Grrrrrrlll though.
