First grow

Hi all, i'm writing in on this forum for the first time but have been a frequent visitor in the past 3 months due to the fact im trying to learn everything i feel i need to know about growing before i go off on my first run, right now the only solid thing i got going is the seeds are germinating as of about an hour ago and a grow space that is 90'' tall 40'' wide and goes in about 6 feet, a closet. Right now im just looking for a little experienced help on getting it going.. Thanks!

First allow us to welcome you here friend. You will love this site I'm sure. Please do take a few moments to peruse the site rules. You will find them to be good and easy to go with.
Now as for your getting set up to bring a little joy into the world, let us say that it is very wise to do what you mentioned about studying up. Better planning is always wise.
What are your thoughts as to lighting ? will you go soil or hydro ? and for the love of it all what are you sprouting ?
Can't wait to hear more from you, as we all love it so very much. It is always like an E ticket at Disneyland, a good adventure to be shared, and we love to look and put our two cents in.

well its just bag seed for this first plant but i do believe i will be looking into seed banks if this first go at it is ok, as for lighting im thinking about starting with a 150 watt hps, yay or nay?

Yo Ho GreenMachine90,
Yeppers lighting is super important, but before you go nuts planning on mucho lighting you must consider heat removal. I might recommend for your space that for vegging you try something a lot cooler like growtubes (cfl).
I use six of them in the same sorta space that your talking about, but for flowering your going to want to look into what you can afford and what will be safe. Sure don't want to burn to the ground right ?

Do remember that we replaced the two TT with a couple of x's so you will need to change them back to T's in order to get to that link.

Thank you, i am going thre now, i also have been seeing these med grows and figure i will do one as a side project also, tomorrow i am going to post a pic of the grow space also, thanks to everyone with there helpful hints and hopefully a good grow!

anytime Chef, anytime.. well i said i would have a pic of the grow room set up today, but friends coming home from college meant we had a lil business to take care of in the form of toking so that has been delayed a bit, but a couple seeds have germinated, so that is good. Anyways, tomorrow im going out and getting my essential light so hopeffully tomorrow is the day for it all!
