I started a new thread a while ago but there were some issues with the babies. The boyfriend almost cooked them. Then we transplanted them from MG to Fox Farms. Then they almost died again. Then we added a hydro system in there. Then I nuted. Now... NOW they seem to be on the up-n-up. Hopefully.

What we got goin on so far:
8 plants in soil.
5 in hydro.
Fox farms soil.
bubbler thingy for the hydro.
Nutes:
hydros: FloraGrow, FloraBloom, FloraMicro
soil: FloraGrow & FloraMicro (they seem to like this - doin it once a week)
Lights: 600w MH, and 400w MH
Mylar
80 degrees
ph 7.5 soil & hydro

PICS:
Set-up. hydros. soil. my super skunk.... DOES IT LOOK OK? I'm emotional towards this one.

Looking good Miss Lead. I would ease up on the nutes as they are showing the precursors of nutes burn.

will do. maybe every other week?

oh and I'm watering twice a week. once with nutes, once without. I'll definitely nute less tho, fur sure.

by no means a hydro pro, but 7.5 seems too high for hydro
always read 5.5 was ideal for hydro and more towards 6.5 for soil
from what i have read, but like i said i am no pro

yeah I think I've read that too. how does one reduce the pH in hydro???

you need to get some ph down from hydro store. 5.8 is ideal for hydro with a .5 +/- is my experience.interesting grow with both, ill b wachin.good luck

ok, went and checked the pH after the thingy had been in there for a while. looks to be around 6. something.

ive also herd that thoes testers u got their are not acurate for like 15 bucks u can get the phtester and the ph up and ph down bottles but ur plants look very good 2 me so good luck

ive always used the liquid with the color codes.......i just dont trust electronics i guess(especially ones that need to be calibrated!) but thats just me and im by no means a pro!

bah, there tool's that help the growers cut corners, they take less time, there generally quite accure, if you clean the tip of the calibator after every use, u'll be ok.

on the other hand...sometimes for me,being a little less efficiant means i get more play time.but i really need to get one of those ppm stick-pen-maesurin thing-a-ma-jiggers!
happy trails

the boyfriend is going to the local hydro store tomorrow to get some pH down and some tester strips.

the plants get bigger every couple hours it seems. which is good since they were so close to death just a couple weeks ago.

I appreciate every one's comments as we all have the same goal. :ccc:

bigger is better...they must be coming out of it. gotta feel good to see them recovering.

ok, time for an update. We've watered with some pH down and fed the hydros the full dosage of their nutes. OMG. They're taking over the place. They're like a mini rain forest.

The soil jobbies are doing ok. We've watered them with some pH down too. Not sure what to do with them or if we just keep watering with that for a while.

Then there's my tall, skinny SS who's the awkward child of the bunch.

ok, time for another update. the Hydros are eating us out of house and home. they look like bushes. we got ballsy and transplanted 3 soil plants to a hydro system last night and they survived the night. Pictures taken just now.

When should we flower? There's about 20" more we can raise the big light and I know they grow more while flowering too. I want to maximize the space, obviously.

different growers have different opinions of when to flower, personally, i'd flower now, you got alot going with those and they'll get BIGGER when you flower...you'll love it and their lookin good. pass to you :48:

With less than two feet of height remaining, you'll have some real problems if you don't flower now. As it is, you'll have a heck of a time keeping them within those restrictions.

You can try to control it with LST, but I don't think you can keep them under that height.

You need to expand your grow area. MJ needs room to grow.

Thank you for the input!!

as of 30 minutes ago they're now on 12/12. we moved the big bushes to the center of the 'room' and shoved the little guys to the sides. ooh I'm so excited!
