last outdoor was attempt #3 (after 2 failed seasons) and third time was a charm... the first attempt I bought white russian (serious seeds) and was retarded and basically threw away 15 of the best seeds. but i finally got it right.

THIS YEAR: i am going to complete my dream and grow some white russian. i have a couple questions, though. I've always had a problem with the plants falling over (i dont know why)... maybe its because ive grown bagseeds. but the plants seem to be weak and fall over after heavy rain/wind (stems dont crack, just bend over and plant lies on the ground).... and die. so i found a solution.

i use grow sticks, put them next to the plant, tie something to the plant, and the plant grows up the stik and stays upright. SO HERES THE QUESTION: how do i see so many outdoor grows without these grow sticks that have huge multiple colas and not falling over and dying after some rough weather? I ALWAYS have problems with them falling over. What am i doing wrong!!! Are the sticks still going to work when i get huge plants with big colas (this year!!!) ??

PLEASE ANSWER I NEED HELP AND CANT WAIT FOR THIS SEASON

Need more information.

Are you starting your plants inside or are they started outside? How old are they when they are bent over? How big?

I think your plants falling over are less because of the rain and more because they are just weak. What is the area that you are growing in? Are they getting enough light? If they are in a shady area or in a dense woods then they probably aren't getting enough light and are thin and wispy.

ummm start from seed in soil outside no transplant or nething.... they actually weren't getting a ton of light but 4 hours of direct sun from 12:00-4 before started to shade, they grew to have gorgeous buds but if i took the sticks away they would stand on their own, but after heavy rain it would fall.......... i guess they are weak? what would i have to do, besides better sun, to make them stronger? fertilize right? ok i guess i talked myself into the answer.......... but another question, how deep does the hole actually have to be, i dug about a 3ft by 3ft wide area 2 ft deep and filled it with organic soil, i grew three females in that area... maybe they had to compete too much for the few hours of sun they got, what do you think

They probably weren't getting enough light in that area for starters. Plus, that is too close together. I'd double the size of the area I dug out. You don't need to replace all of the soil. Just add like a 20 lb bag or so of some good soil and work it up really good.

Probally they were weak to begin with and when you put in the sticks they had no was to grow stronger as the stick was doing the work. Also when you plant in an area with only little afternoon sun they try to grow tall to fast to reach the light and they grow up faster than they grow out or big around resulting in a spindly plant. There is not much you can do to make them not grow that was in that area. Topping might help but with the little light sorce it will take much longer for them to regrow from the topping. This spot is ok if you just wan`t a few buds as the leaves are coming off late in the year when the plants are budding but its slow go during veg. I would look for a new place with more sun.

what about tamato cage?..Sorry i only grew two plants outside...and both i used those...you can train them..( tie her down and treat her like a Female )...LOL

not an expert but maybe lst or tie down would be helpful. As they get taller and you feel they are too skinny and weak to stay straight end it over at the top and tie her down with a stake so it is longer than she is tall. Thus when the 4 hrs of sunlight come the lower part of the plant and the side will startgrowing upwards to the sunlight. Results= a shorter plant that you trained to grow outward and wide as opposed to straight up and skinny. Just a suggestion though ;). Best of luck hope to see some pics!

Slimshady.... The real one

Correction 3rd line down instead of end it should say *bend*. Oops
