Ever Known of Any "Personal" Growers Who Got Busted?

Have you ever known of any "personal" growers who got busted? I'm not talking about growers who got busted by selling. I'm talking about people who grew for 100% personal use. People who were trying to be stealth.

Personally, I've never known or heard of any.

I imagine some "personal" growers get busted because they brag to their "friends" about their grows...and word gets around...and then when someone who knows gets busted, they trade that knowledge to the cops to get a suspended sentence.

Thats something like how it happens Im sure. Thats why rule NO. 1 in this game is tell NO ONE. My friends here at MP are the only ones who know of my grow and here I'm completely anonomyous.

'97 I was prosecuted for 5 small OD plants. The neighbors cattle crawled though the fence, and he spotted the guerrilla grow while gathering them.
It can/does happen..

I have known dozens of folks who were "raided" with personal grows, only to have leo walk because of proper paperwork.

IE. My close friend was just visited by the local sheriffs office. They came in with a dozen officers and banged on the door.
Well, my buddy was in the middle of trimming a 4 lighter, with about 60 plants. Herb hanging everywhere ( he is truly a slob), and a nice ball of hash sitting next to the bong.
LEO checked his paperwork, saw he has a limits exemption from his Doc, and told him all was well, nice set up, and left.

This was 2 weeks ago.

There was a couple that got caught with 150 plants last week, not sure what happened with it though,
150 plants, or 4. Most of us here are to small to waste the money on. It would cost more prosecuting a smaller setup compared to some others

I'm not sure how much longer the the public will stomach the idea of prosecuting folks like us here who are not legal to grow our own becuase of where we live....... the public veiw of mj has change quit a bit in last 10 years........ besides..... I believe the whole USA has had a huge increase in the number of closet grows for personal use over the last 2 to 3 years..... I'm talking thousands...... it is headed to the point where the US govt is the only one against MJ. imho

I have a friend who got 5 years for 2 outdoor plants. DEA spotted them from a helicopter and landed in his front yard, broke down his door and put automatic weapons to his head.

If it was his first arrest, yes, excessive!!

I know of a "friend" that was busted with 400 plants (iirc), given probation and then busted again with another 300+, looking at fed time, now. Neither arrest was his first rodeo, though!

I know 6 growers personally who have no reccomendation, have grown for 20+ years and will NEVER get a rec. They're like me, it needs to be legal across the board. And by the by medical marijuana is still FEDERALLY illegal. The Supreme Court JUstices are all OLD and only getting older. Soon they will be dead and new more enlightened one (hopefully) will take their place and change it on the Federal Level.

I think that will depend on who appoints them, and if there is an agenda.

You have a good perspective on things, 7. LEO will sell you out to the Feds in a heart beat -- no matter what the state law says -- one rogue sheriff is all it takes -- I don't want to be on the state list as a grower either -- so I am an outlaw
