my Ballast took a dump on me..
With no back up lighting.
I had to move my grow outside.
(im sure many of you probably read my thread)

NE ways...

Got a couple questions for you outdoor pros.

1. Whats the PH of natural rain water??
- had an epiphany, so thought I ask.

2. Can potted outdoor plants be over watered??
- Thunderstormed last night and continued rain/drizzle to this morning
so heavy rain then steady rain on and off for last 10 hours.
Our region been suffering a severe drought which is welcomed rain
but is my plants in jeapardy??
2a. Since it rained so much and my potted plants are outside, can i
consider my plants as being FLUSHED?

3. When my new light set up arrives, is there any PRECAUTIONS should I take
before moving my plants back indoors???
- I want to take every precaution i can take NOT To contaminate
my grow room with PEST ie: mites, aphrids and etc etc.

4. I ordered NEED OIL along with my replacement light. Any
Recommendations on how to use it??

Dank Q and have a nice day..

:p

Unpolluted rainwater can have a Ph of 5.6 As for the raining so much, let it alone, your plants will love it. As long as your containers can drain off the extra water your good. It's when roots end up standing in water that the rotting starts. PESTS ? oh- yes I would give them a good slow going over. Problem there is what can you now find in the soil ? I've never used oil so maybe someone else here can help you with that one.
What did you go with as far as your lighting ?

My ballast is under warranty..

The store I bought them from, didn't have any in stock
and their delivery didn't contain any.. It is a digtal greenhouse digital
600w MH/HPS light set. Since they didn't have my kind, and is
in a hurry to get plants back in the house. They let me pay the difference
for the upgrade to a 1000W MH/HPS light kit.
Which should be arriving today (hopefully) with the more Mylar and Neem
Oil.

I saw some pictures of someones grow.. I forget, who.. (but recent)
and his plants had mights and other, and seemed to have ALOT and
kinda swarmed his grow.. Im tring to avoid all that headache.

hey there 'mister'..
rainwater (never checked the ph) is great for your plants, unless it is running off a roof or similar that might contaminate it.
sure they can be "overwatered", but if your drainage is sufficient, no worries there either.
I doubt if you recieved enough rain to "flush" your plants. More like simply givibng them a good long drink of fresh water.

Most definately de-bug them before you takr them back ID. Once indoors, in a favorable environment, with "0" predators, bugs will multiply fast.
"I" don't use neem, so I'll not comment..

Hick..

What would you recommend, to do to my plants
before I move them back in??

Ill heed any and all advise..

I would hose them off reeeeeeeeeally well, with a "stiff" spray from the garden hose. Not so "stiff" that it does damage, but hard enough to wash bugs, eggs, ect. off them. DON'T neglect the undersides of the leaves, lotsa' bugs like to hide there. the plants will take a pretty good beating and spring back without a problem.
Then, use a "safe" pesticide, "Safer's insecticidal soap" happens to be "my" choice, but lotsa' brand names/formulas are available. Even the Neem would likely work, but "I" just don't care for it's odor 'm sticky/oily property. Spray it on 'till it is dripping off. Again, undersides of leaves.
I would repeat the process (pesticide) every 3 days or so, for 2 weeks. Watch your medium/soil for signs of any pests. Fungus gnats, thrips and whitflies are notorious in your dirt.
Diaotamacious(sp) earth or a dry layer of clean sand will help there.
"Prevention" is a whole lot easier than erradication, once pests are established.

i have a plant outside and i dont know wheather it is male or female help me out i have pics in my thread titled new grower seeking some info...thx

freak ,,go to forum jump,, go to growing out doors ,look on thread newbie tips/ etc it will answer your question with detailed pics

MR puffalot ,not really sure but it dont hurt mine , mine are out doors in 15 gal pots , it will only hurt if theres not enough drainage, i think youll find you will have a bigger problem keeping them moist at times.. hope you get your in door back up . :) gd luck
