does anyone know if there is a transformer device that takes the electric companys power and then boosts that power to drive several lamps, without spinning up the meter?

That is not physically possible.

The title is right. Get a honda generator, or solar power cells.

I think that would be consider stealing...as OGK stated look into solar power..good luck

thanks og, do you have any suggestions on how to run a generator in the house, so neighbors cant hear it running 24/7? I guess you would have to sound proof a room, and then figure out how to get the heat and fumes out.

bad idea carbon monoxide is oderless and deadly you start runnuing generators in home your asking for trouble stick with solar panels. if one of those fans that was pulling fumes ever crapped the bed you and your family would be dead

Technology is advancing you can buy them these days and they run pretty quiet ! I think they are aiming towards quiet campers ! Maybe you could bury a sound proof box and throw it in there ! IDK ! All the best ! $800+ AUS

The costs of fuel to run the generator would be more than using the power company's supply.

Unless you have a death wish for everyone in your house, don't use a combustion engine inside any structure with living beings in it.

Figure out a way to have your crop within a range of power usage that can be justified.

One way is to have a separate meter installed for your "Cabinet Shop". Have it listed as a business, and route your power back to your grow rooms in a way that isn't seen from casual inspection. The meter will be read each month as a "Cabinet Shop" meter, separate from your house. The extra usage won't even raise an eyebrow then.

NO GENERATORS INSIDE DWELLINGS. NO WAY, NO HOW.

so how are people powering these big grows in homes, and staying under the electric companys radar?

It's sure not by using a combustion engine inside a dwelling. That's just death waiting to happen.

The increase ratio in a house that already has a large electric bill would be less and also less likely to raise attention.

Those who live in MMJ states don't have to hide it any more if they have a legal grow.

I read about isolated incidents where the electric company was involved with grow room busts. Most are for electric THEFT, not electric USAGE.

My electric bill has doubled several times in very hot summer months when I had a grow going. The electric company has never said a word.

I have my bill on auto-pay from my checking account.

I don't think they care what I use.

Like stoney said the electric company won't care unless your stealing it from them. They are like any other big company the more money they make the happier they are. They aren't about to call the cops on you for using a lot of power. As long as you pay your bill they could'nt care less how much power you use and what you use it for.IMO

back up generator. Its meant to be outside. Its encased in a sound proof and weather proof box. Buy a diesel generator and use used cooking oil to power it. Of course everyone will smell french fries or chicken or whatever was cooked with the oil.

I didn't know a diesel would burn cooking oil without some sort of modification. Of course, it would have to be filtered first to remove all the residuals of particulate in it. I wonder what micron filter would have to be used.

yes minor mods to run cooking oil. yes filter and ph adjusted as well as a little alcohol. Biggest problem is cooking oil needs to be heated and diesel is still needed to start and stop the running cycle. but otherwise you're good.

Oh by the way diesel fuel does not burn in a combustion engine, it is compressed until detonation, but not actually burning. The inverse proportional relationship of volume and pressure on temperature.

I cld not imagine being constantly tempted by the smell of french fries...lol
A cpl good bowls and I wld be craving McDonalds all the time...:)

Dude! You got that right! I'd be driving from one fast food joint to another, burning all my cooking oil up!

Nom, nom, nom, nom.....

Generally the filter used for biodiesel is the same micron as the black bubble bag (the largest micron size in my bubble bag 5 pack)
