I was wondering if outdoor flowering works the same as indoor? The daylight chart for my city says i won't go into 12/12 untill Sept 25th so does that mean that is when it will start flowering or does it start when it senses the days getting shorter? I also have seen a few charts saying first frost is Nov 7. IDK if that was last years first frost or just an average time but i have seen a few that had that date and then one that said Oct. 10th.... Hope it is later than that cause these beans just started germing today... :watchplant:

the plant is not limited to flowering only when the light cycle is 12/12 exactly... some will start flowering at much greater lights on periods... it all depends on a number of factors, such as the maturity of the plant.

I've had an older girl start flowering when the lights on period was 16+ (indoor in front of the window).

plants are just like people... everyone is different....

Here where i am, the plants start to flower in late july and early august, and finish in early October or sometimes a bit later (afgan dominant strains). The nights get scarey for frost..cause my "average first frost" is late in September.

What kind of growth can i expect if my light goes to 12/12 on Sept 25 and the seeds go in the ground on the 4th? I know this is a very broad question but will the yield be enough to be worth the time? Could i at least get 3 to 4 oz. per plant? Thanks

I've had 3-4 oz succesfull grows from "clones" about a foot tall, put out in early July, but from seed.. ?? You won't be allowed much time for vegetative growth, they will be 'small'.
12/12 has almost nothing to do with outdoor flowering. There is a "sticky" in the Imdoor section, I believe, that explains it pretty well.

What region do you live in? So even if my plants are 4-5 months old at harvest they won't be very big?

The plant gets info from the length of sun during the day...as the sun time each day gets shorter, the plant is signaled to flower. i planted some seeds last year, late, like in late june, the plants were small, and mostly just a main cola. I dont think i got over a quarter oz from, i think, five. But were worth doing cause i learned from them.
They were pretty sad lookin compared to what i got goin' now.

But if you are talking keeping them under lights....then your vedge time is as long as you want it. When you put them under 12/12 to flower, they mature depending on the strain. Like an afgan will mature before a Sativa, that goes for indoor or out.
