I keep waiting for my purples to darken up, see some berry color in the pistils..I do see a little color in the stems but since it has gotten extremely hot again I am not noticing as much..The post with the pretty colored pistils has me wondering when will my change? Is it usually much closer to harvest? Very indica purple kush. for a while this summer we had a brief period in the 80's and they seemed to love it. Saw some plum colors at the stems. Now looks white to me. hmmm thanks

I grew purple strians last year (Amethyst, Purps, Amethyst x NL, and Grandaddy Purple). I noticed the stalks will be red or dark red, a plum color. The buds at about four/five weeks started to turn purple/lavender, I had no color cept the stems before then. I have blueberry this year and it is showing a grey color already in her pistles and calix, tho the stems have been purple from the gate. On the flip side, I have Flo, purple stems too, and will expect light purple buds. I am also growing the Grandadddy Purple, and it is the least Purple from what I hear of the Purple strains. The only reason it turned purple last season, for me, was due to cooler temps here overnight in the fall. The rest of my garden with the exception of some mango was all purple, deep dark to light lavender.
So give it time 2 dogs...if it is to be purple, it will purple.
And it is dang fine to be here, lookin' at your beautiful girl!

All of the purple strains Ive grown dont show their colors until the last couple weeks of flower. Most purple strains still have white pistils.

I did have one strain that had bright pink pistils from the start but I dont even know what strain that was.

very cool thanks guys! I cant wait to see the colors. It will cool down here soon.

The cool temps def help bring out the colors but if it has the purple pheno then it will show some purple regardless of the temp.

Ive grown a bunch of purple plants in an 80+ degree closet.

right now they are in 103 degree heat...I am glad they are doing so well for indicas. One day it got up to 107 and they were ok.
a few years ago we got up 118 and I kind of dred to think what that would do to my crop.

Wow, its hot where you live. I didnt really get a summer where I live this year. I dont think its reached 90 in my area and its already cooling down. I love fall time in Maine though.

As long as the roots are cool than you should be all set.

It is soooo hot here. Although I have been to Florida and Mexico and the humidity there was worse...

2Dog, I grow in hot weather too....bout your temps. I think hottest this year in the garden here, was 111f, in July.

Yeah I am excited because the cool weather has now hit the East Coast and managing my temps is a lot easier now....I gotta grow a purple strain soon...besides being cool to look at they always seem to win the BPOTM....:)

I actually hve some Purple Bastard x Bogglegum from Misfit in my seed collection...maybe I need to add that to my fall grow??

sounds good Ham..I love the purple smoke. My first harvest will be sweet bubblegum followed by sweet purple kush next, then maybe super berry I dotn know if that will be sweet or not. Maybe I should have planned the tates better didnt something sour too.. lol

I have gone through tons of purple beans and even bought a portable A/C with a night time controller to get my temps 59 degrees at night and still not one purple pheno to this day. Obviously the purple gods have cursed me. Hopefully one day I will find one.

Thats horrible Buddy. Almost every strain Ive grown has turned purple and I dont buy purple strains on purpose. Try a Blueberry strain, they all turn purple for me.
