I'm probably going to need a 6" duct fan. I have no electrical diy skills, so I would need it to plug in a wall outlet. Are they all plug in thr wall or do u have to wire them in? If some need to be wired, where cn I get one that plugs into an outlet?
Thx

duct BOOSTER fans usually need to be wired, its very simple even if you aren't a handyman and they also dont work, JMO

Lots of inline fans are plug in and they work much better and they hook into your duct work no problem.

ya im running a 4" inline and a 6" inline fan, the 4" is on my 400, and the 6" is on my 600, both in my flowering chamber..
i was looking to add a 6" duct fan as a simple intake because they are so cheap, and i thought effective..

im just looking to decrease my rh, and i would think by adding an intake fan, instead of relying on passive intake would do this.

ok so maybe a duct booster will work.....

can you wire a light fixture?? 3 wires???
its very simple too connect to a light switch
and even to a temp sensor

ive never done any electrical work.. i would think if its just three wires i could do that. but what do u plug up those 3 wires to? i cant cut wholes in my wall or anything like that..

Just a couple of thoughts:

I can't post links, but there are plenty of places on-line with instructions (including video) on how to wire a lamp or other basic appliance.

Another idea would be to work a trade with an electrician. ;-)

We use an in-line fan for exhaust but stick with the passive intake on our tent. We also use two of the little clip-on oscillating fans to keep the air moving.

The duct fans that high tech garden sells comes with a cord already attached. the 6" one was $25 last time i bought one.

THANKS Dillan!!

i have a question..
if the room is 60%rh and the tent is 60% rh, adding a intake fan isnt going to decrease the rh inside the tent, would it? doesnt seem like it would..

i really need to get the rh down, but dont want to run a dehumidifier..

any help?

Dunno, but would think that if you wanted to increase the air exchange, adding another fan as an exhaust would be more effective than using it as an intake/push. The only thing would be to increase the size of the intake, or numbers thereof. Does that make sense? Seems like the fan will work better to move more air this way...?

Also, the rh should go lower vs the 60 assuming the air coming in is lower. If you're bringing in 60rh air, it will stay the same no matter how many fans you add, then you'r into the dehumidifier... peace.
