So I have been planning a grow for a while now that i was going to start in august when i have a big closet with a 600W in a lens-hood cooled with a 200+ CFM fan and a roughly 200 CFM exhaust fan in a 4x3 flower room, and a fluoro tube veg room, but its getting to the point where i cant really wait, but right now i could only make the flowering room 3.5X2X6, so that would give me almost 13000 lumens/sqft. should i attempt this grow or just be patient and wait until august? what do you guys think?

Its not unreasonable to visualize the densest buds ever whilst still in the planning phase, but its really all in the execution. As my first sergeant in the military was wont to say " Dont forget the six P's........proper planning prevents piss poor performance". I'm not sure if these colloquialisms help you in any way, but hopefully they made me sound knowledgeable and worldly -wise. Good luck btw.

lol, thanks, but i didnt really think i could achieve the densest buds ever, i just meant it to express how extremely high the lumens/sqft will be since im going to be using equipment that is more proper for 12 sqft in only 7 sqft.

yea, cooling would probably be the biggest issue but im hoping a lens cooled hood and powerful fan could do the trick

Luckily I live in Northern climes, and its still cool enuff outside I get by with a lil air exchange system I set up in my basement window for cooling.

i'd go for it. whats the harm in trying, lot of lumens per sq. ft. LOL but sounds like you got it sorted for heat.

Watch your distance from the lamps and pop beans!

....whattya waiting for?! :D

the sooner you start, the sooner you get some good old hands on experience!
my first try was with a dinky 20watt flouro and 5 bagseed beans. none of them made it, but i learned a good deal from that. then got some WW seeds from a friend and now i cant stop growing these delicious stinky succulent buds that melt my insides as if i was in a microwave.. :D

I agree with the indica strain and I hope I get to follow along with the grow.

I've been wondering something sort of along these lines. At what point are you just wasting electricity with excess lumens? Is there a point where the plants won't produce more with the excess lumens, sort of a proverbial ceiling? Has anyone tested this.

For example is there anyone among the growers here who could say from experience that "12,000 lumens and 13,000 lumens per sq ft produce the same yield"? What is the cut off where you are just wasting electricity? I'd imagine the numbers will be higher than the ones I used as an example, I've just been thinking about this.

why did you plan the grow so far out? Are you planning on moving? If so why had you not grown where you already at.
You said you cant really wait, is that impatience or hard times?

I know i dont know your situation but if you had a reason for not growing there before and hard times just came up is it worth the risk weigh the odds. just trying to look out.

If your just impatient or were worried about space I would say go for it.
are you planning on building a small cabinet and putting it in a closet?

yea, im moving into a place where i will have the master bedroom in august. i have grown here before but it was with cfls and a borrowed hps and pretty thrown together. i didnt grow this semester because me and both the guys im living with in august are splitting the equipment costs for the set up i mentioned. but i recently learned im going to be staying at college for the summer, so i figured i could start growing around may 1st and harvest that grow in august and also have clones from those plants going for the new set up.

if your still wondering about lum per foot
ive read 10,000 per ft is the sun and most ppl here think that anymore is wasting
now i wouldnt say your wasting light but you could make your room bigger untill your at 10000 Lum/ft

yea i cant really make it bigger though
