Hey im new to this forum but, I always check it out for advice. So far without registering you guys have answered my questions. but now I have a new one. So i've been growing pot for a couple of years now, but I've only done it outside. As my city gets bigger I can no longer have my plants outside, too many neighbors, so I've decided to move it into my closet. I have a 8x4x8ft high closet. I just need a few tips on what lights I should buy and if it would be a good idea to clone my plants from outside and bring them in? I want to keep it soil because it seems like my thing. And what would electricity cost me to run this. I just want a yield for my self. but something steady

Veg and flower in the same area? Perpetual harvest? Temps. in the house? Budget? Rent or own? We can help you out.

yeah i was hoping to split it down into 2, for veg and flowering. my room is roughly 70-80, low 70s at night and close to 80 at midday. i own my place, and for my budget I got a little room to spend, nothing to pricey but something that'll last. thanks

24 feet², a little big area, the adequate light will be between 24,000 lumens and 72,000 lumens. That is a little troublesome. You will definitely need one or two 1000W HPS lamps. If possible divide the closet into two and use it both vegetative growth and flowering.

Heat and air circulation will be a big issue so I will recommend two big fans and a fan inside the closet for each grow area.

yeah I wasnt planning on using the whole closet, the other half would be empty or store **** in. So If i were to get a MH and HPS one for veg. and flowering would that work out right? and are they ok to run in my household with my other stuff.

Is this going to be a completely enclosed cabinet within the closet or just hanging a light within that area?

Since this is for yourself you don't need a big light which will help with the heat. Are you willing to cut holes in the closet? I would go with a 250 hps or cmh. If you want to have alot of fun try a 400w in there.

Ok this is my room, what i was hoping was to put some mylar down the middle and against the walls, that big wall down the mid is my dividing line. One one side I put a table there. Built it today :) and on the other side I'll flower. Would this seem to work? I was also wondering if there a way to get air to flow to both rooms without getting light into my flowering room, or would I have to buy two in-fans for both sides?

that is my closet, and my fan-out is going through my ceiling into the attic, out the side of my roof.

I would recommend a 400 or 600 hps for your flowering area, depending on finish plant size. I 250 mh will be plenty for your veg area. You could even use t5's or cfl's. You will want air cooled hoods and a fan and ducting to cool them. You can connect room ventilation with bends in ducting kept low to the floor. Use a duct booster to move air between rooms. Have a cool air intake into your room and a hot air exhaust on top. An oscillating fan in each room. You are looking at roughly 75 - 100 dollars for electricity, a month, depending on power cost. Much less than an ounce of good bud. I wouldn't bring any outdoor plants into your grow room. Just buy some quality seeds online based on your grow area and wants.

would there be a cheaper way of getting a bigger yield, if my space was managed for my power cost and all that. I think that makes sense?

if i split my room into two, 2x4' what kind of light would cover that area efficiently? a 400 watt or 600 watt? I dont know the sq footage a light gives.
