Darn Critters

I have planted 2 set of Bagg seeds in two different buckets and set them outside after they show there leaves and behold there gone by morning time..
I think that the mice (Rats) have gotten them and that just tells me I can't grow outside with out putting up a tall mesh wire around the Pots to keep Critters out !!
I got a good spot outside that I am going to dig a big hole to drop a 10 gal bucket or so into the ground and put up a wire mesh fence that is 1/8 x1/8 sqaures and barrey the part of the mesh and high enough so the critter can't jump over it.

I live out in the country and I have mice that grows into big Rats and these rats can be as Big as a Cats around here and my Cat Wouldn't Mess with them after some Nasty Fights.!! My dog are better catcher then my Cat will ever will be..

Sounds like you need a pen for the plants and a play yard around them so the dogs can protect them at night. lol

My dogs protect the plant :hubba: they will have the plant upside down trying to get the Critters.

i use lots of moth balls. i spread them in circle like round the base of each plant bout 2 feet from the trunk of the plant. and i scatter a few handfulls around the area as well bout every 3 weeks or so. i get em at the dollar store cheaper there. they look at u funny when u go an but like 20 boxes of mothballs at a time tho. i tell em i have a garden and it keeps the moles and rabbits etc out of it. if u do get moles or gophers, just throw a bunch down their holes.
it seems to wortk for me as i see bunnies everywhere on my way out to my grow but none round the plants. i also had to shoot a bunny wit a co2 pistol once cuz it was chewin on one when i walked up.
lol yes i carry a co2 wit me. i figure its less than a real gun if say i would get busted . possession of a firearm in a commision of a felony.. ouch. plus there mountain lions round and wat have you. its spooky alone at night walkin thru the sticks. the co2 makes me feel good lol.
so another more permanent solution to ya prob would be to shoot the buggers lol

get high and play sniper wit the vermin. i do lol when i get bored sometimes. i got a laser scope for my co2 too. too much free time i think lol

Hey man , Frogs eat my seads right from the get go , ha no matter where i put them.... i just invented the AppleBees to-go container humidity dome seedling starter-outer....i get a single to go thing from applebees( the nice plastic ones) cut out the ring on the top for air and fill the bottom with soil....and poke holes inthe bottom with a thumb tak and place the whole thing over a small bucket, kinda elevated.
