I'm a newbie--hi, hello, how are you. I've got 4 white widow and 4 crystal up and jamming. Will it stress my babies if I clone now? Required Info: I'd guess they've been germinated about 4 weeks now, one seems to be pre-sexing but my magnifyer could be lying to me; they are maybe 8-9" high and like 12" wide; I've got them in 5 gal buckets full of Fox Farm Ocean forest; 4 1/2 ' x 8' room; 2 600 watt MH conversions going 24hrs. Okay, I've been studying, alright? Get off my case. Side bar: I've been a hobbyist with reefer for many, many years but I've never seen anything grow like this. Needless to say, I'm jubulent, but don't want to stress these things into hermie-ing or slowing down. Am I being way industrious for a first crop-Johnny? Thanks for the help.

Why clone before you are sure of the Sex Bro? I would wait. I havent ever seen it slow my plants enough to tell. But if ya just wanna clone(Pics would help),,Id say it wouldnt hurt it if ya took from the bottom. I always use real nice long bottom branches. They always seem to turn out so pretty.

If I wait until I'f flowering, isn't that a bad time to Clone? I tried once with some debris from a buddy's harvest--they lived forever but never grew.

I clone once sex is determined and the time length of my grow.

No Sir,,take your clones as soon as she or he sexes. Thats the way most do it when they dont know the sex. Some clone and put them into flower to find sex. Eather way is up to you. BUt it aint gonna hurt them unless you get crazy. But to clone after sex is used by most I know and read about. Once you know the sex,,you can take clones as soon as they have them to take,, if ya wanted to I suppose.
I do not have a Mother plant. I clone my clones as I stagger my grows.
Right now the Mother is about to be Harvested. From her I have 2 clones. One I took about 5 weeks ago(it is 20" tall and has been in flower for a week) right beside the mother. The other clone(has a bud on top) I took a couple weeks ago from the Mother,,, she is in the mini DWC growing roots. I have two other clones I took from the the 14" clone. (the one flowering beside the mother). Took them a couple weeks ago while she was still in Vegg. Those two are now getting roots. See where Im going with this. I will continue to do this untill I want seeds.(OH yeah,,I have a clone of the Male). When he gets to big I just reclone his ***,,cut him back down to size.

Thanks, guys. Since this is my first indoor grow, I think I may stick to basic Cultivation 101 and see if I can get happy without getting fancy.

Sorry Bro,,I wasnt trying to be fancy,,,hell,,thats the 1st time I been called fancy. ;) Thankya Sir. Boy your easy to impress. My stuff is nothing up side most these PPL's grows. I Clone cause it's easy as hell and I get the same good smoke every time. Dont wanna keep a mother.

I normally just throw my plants (after about 5-6 weeks) into my flowering box for a couple days, then once they show sex, I pull them out, clone them, and veg them up to the size I like, then flower.

Also, Sometimes I don't have room in my flowering box, so I clones before I know the sex sometimes, but I label anything and everything very carefully. You gotta know which clones came from which plant, so if one of the parent plants turns out to be male, you can pull all the male clones. You could clones like this now if you wanted, just remember to label!

Your first steps on what promises to be a helluva journey, no doubt.

I clone as soon as I can get them and flower the donors to see what I have.

dats not nescary art u r jus stressing yo plant dat way its best to let the plant show its sex they will show weather male or female even in 24 hr veg.

The biggest issue I've got right now is I'm not so great on early sexing but I think I'm coming around. I've got a few pistilates now and I am seeing the ones with pipe cleaners coming from them and ones that are just little pear shaped dudes with no pipe cleaners. BIG THANKS back to everyone. Thanks for letting me in the club--it's proving to be the funnest club in the world. I can only wonder why I waited so long--why was I driving when I coulda been flying?

Went out and got a 10X jeweler's loupe. Now I'm in the race for real--I can clearly see the early sexing things now.
