Howdie folks,
I have a question regarding taking a cutting from a plant well into flower. A friend of mine has a monster female Nothern LightsxHazecrossed with a "Big Green". The love child is truly a thing of beauty! And I would love to have some of her genetics in my collection.

The problem (for me ) is that the plant is a couple weeks into flower. I got the thumbs up to take a clone, but have no idea if it will work, considering that the plant is already flowering. He intended to re-green the plant (if possible), but not certain if it will work.

Anyway, has anyone tried to take a cutting of a full-blown flowering girl? I was going to do it like normal. Cut a young shoot, dip it in Rootone, and then put it in a starter mix/pearlite mix under CFL light. I've had good luck with 18 hour days under CFL in my little vegging box.

Any thoughts?

There are many many threads that deal with this type of cloning.
do a search and pick the process that you like

yes you can i believe everyone here says it might take two-three weeks to root just be patient
i cloned in 2nd week of flower had no rooting powder and it took just about 4 weeks to root just be patient as for your friend he should be able to reveg but tell him to be patient ive read on this stie that it can take upto two weeks at 24/0 before it has new growth
fffffffffffff i hate being patient and now im telling you and your friend tobe sorry

you can clone even later in flower. It just takes longer to root.maybe a little more care,or your success rate won't be very good.but i like to play with my ladies daily anyways.

yes take the clipping and be paitient..it could take up to a month to root..the longer it is in flower the Harder and Longer it is to root...and your friend can reveg after harvest..look for PuffingAfatty "Snow white Regeneration" he has reveged that plant 5 times now..he is the one I would be talking with on that subject..another tip..scroll down to bottom of pages..you will find simular questions to help you with your research..hope this helps..KEEP M GREEN:bolt::bong:

just to mention my kush strain, well bagseed but all hash plant genetics, you can tell.it tends to produce a male flower or two,if cutting is taken too late into 12/12. like day 45 or so.not the clone the plant you took the cutting from.stress related?master kush genetics?don't know but it happens.

Thanks for the information guys. I think there are some nice, tender shoots on that mama I can get. I figure, I only need one to make it. Probably I'll take 3 or 4 cuttings.

Anyway, I figured it would take a little while for the cutting to get it's hormone cycle back on track for vegging.

ive done it many times and I almost think they root faster when cut during flowering

Take as many as he is willing to give you my friend..the more the better ..IMO..;)

depending on the weather.kind of chilly most places now.grows a little cool, not 78-80f like cuttings like.but i have had them root pretty quickly in summer months.like 10 days in my perlite drip cloner.alot of conditions come into play.good luck!
