its getting time for me to have to build a carbon filter. how dose one go about doing so without killing the suction of the fan?? im not sure if its called back preasure?? but i dont wanna loose to much suction.

Howdy lefthand! Have you seen our diy section? There's some good filters there.
Sorry I can't answer the question.

yeah i have checked it out... the thing im not sure about is loosing preasure and how to prevent this from happening.. because i know when i went from 6" hose to 4" hose it decreased the suction enough. or would one be safe with a 6" filer for a 6' hose makes sense eh... lol but will i still loose preasure??

Carbon filters have a minimum and maximum airflow rating. Make sure your filter handles the flow your looking for and things will be all good. I exclusivly use carbon filters for odor control and have great circulation and exhaust. Sucking more than the rated amount will result in inefficiant filtration and still smell - to little flow will result in the problem your concerned with.

check out foothill filters on ebay, they are home made but just pick the cfm rating range for your fan, i can attest to how great and cheap these filters are, for the price and efficiency, you cant beat em. zero smell at my home.
