i have 2 600 w magnetic ballasts i have to hang from ceiling. i dont want a shake going threw house & no room on the floor. so whats the best way to hang them without them falling on girls?
or any other ideas?

mine are not vibrating. i dont want them to vib. i can here my fan threw my floor ( attached to ceiling) but cant here it out side my room. im thinking of keepin them higher than my head. more room up there.

you can hang them using 2-3 heavy bungie cords hanging from hooks. did it that way for years before moving to digital ballasts. stops the vibration (noise) from running up through the floor. you can do the same thing with a small like 1'x2'x1/2" shelf and put eyelets on the corners, hang it from bungies. that's how i do small exhaust fans too. if you mount it up between floor studs you have to insulate above them else you get a mild hot spot on the floor above, and the ballast is much louder from its echoing in the stud cavity. hope that makes sense...

my logic the more you can mount high in the room (or out of the room) the less you risk getting wet. the only thing in a grow that doesn't mind getting wet is the plants and my toes... heh...

thanks old s guy! but can you trust a few bungy cords to holdÉ my room is sound & fire insulated with fire drywall also. ill get pics when im closer to starting. my fan is silenced alot with 1-5 gal bucket on either end & had 6 inch ducting running threw it with fire insulation tightly around the duct in the bucket, sealed to the fan. noise is there a bit, but its not the airplane engine i had in other grows. the ballast make more noise. lol
puff i have foam like you say on the fan bracket mounts attached to the celing. i can here it shake up stairs more than in the room. ill have to stiffin up braces or bracket to wall also to stop vibration. cheers boys thanks for the info.
