Ballast questions

i got a great deal on a 1000 dual blast, however i think it is a little much for what im currently doing. can i run lower level bulbs, maybe 600 in the ballast, will energy cost go down? please help would love to drop temp and be in a more optimal range

i really dont know can you use smaler bulb with that ballast . but even if you can , remembber
ballast take 1000watt you energy cost would not drop down.
