I have two stonehedge plants going, they have been vegging for 12 days, i had them under three flouros but they were getting SUPPPER hot. I went to wally world and bought ( General Purpose Soft White 100's )
It says on the box that each one puts out 1700 lumens and , that its 26wats of usage are comparable to the 100w of a normal bulb... I have two of these in relflectors I bought at wal-mart. Are two of these enough to veg each one for a month? I have each bulb in the reflector right above each plant.
The rule for MJ in regards to light is that it needs a *minimum* of 3,000 lumens for each square foot of plant canopy. 5,000 is better for plant growth and yield at harvest.
You've got two 1700 lumen lights. That's 3,400 lumens total. That's just enough for slightly more than one square foot of plant canopy. Depending on how large you grow your plants, you can use much more light. For vegging, I would suggest at least doubling that amount of light for each plant.
Growing weed has it's drawbacks. To do it properly, time, space, cost, lights, heat and nutes all have to be considered *before* starting a grow. Those who don't are usually plagued with problems.
You'll have to figure out a way to resolve the heat issue. The plants need lots of light. If you continue your grow using only the light you have, you'll be very disappointed in the yield you'll have at harvest.
The purchase of a good grow book right away would be another suggestion for you. Read that book cover to cover as fast as you can. You'll learn all the basics and some advanced tricks by doing so. Then, when you have something that you don't understand or just want more information about, ask here.
Good luck man, and let us know how your grow proceeds.
