I just found a company called TCP that is making Air Purifier CFLS. The biggest is a 27W 1850L 2700k warm white.

"In short, the titanium dioxide coating on fresh2Ti creates a photocatalytic reaction when exposed to the fluorescent light produced by the bulb. This reaction releases electrons, or negatively charged particles. At the same time, a positively charged hole is formed in its place. This combination of negative and positive creates a very strong oxidizer called the hydroxide radical. Odors that come into contact with the positively charged holes are broken down by these oxidizers into odorless compounds. "

Anyone have any experience with these??

I posted on this a few weeks ago. The theory is solid. The cost is minimal. But I haven't had a chance to try it. So I don't know how effective it is or how large a space it can handle.

i think i'm going to try it with a new design i've been thinking about. i'll post if i do...

I too have read about these. I think there are a couple people somewhere on the board that have used them.
Breathing a lot of these radicals is probably not good, but then again neither is smoking ganja, from a physical point of view.

Ben, I think there would be a lot of value in posting your results. Thanks for stepping up.

you talked me into it!! i'll build the fixtures over the weekend if i can, and start looking for a local supplier, otherwise order the bulbs online.
