Most of the reflectors/cooltubes that are complete have the cord on the outside already and all you do is slip on your duct work. With the cooltube in your last picture you would have to drill/make a hole in your duct work in order to connect the cord(that you must add) to your ballasts.

I would go with the tube.Pduck is right bout the cord.I drilled into the "neck"of the tube above the cords(easier to seal 4 me)added a plastic piece(forgot what its called)to seal the hole and ran the wires out that route.Lil silicone and your in buiness

blunt...I use 6 inch cool tube hooks up easy and keeps 400 wat hps nice and cool with carbon filter attached to one end and can fan sucking at the other end vented to outside...no heat issues at all.

Pcduck, thats what i was wondering.the cord that on the out side(like the 1st pic). were will i plug it up at?? cause my ballest has all the wires connected and there unplugable. i dont have my cam right now, but heres a pic of the 1 i have from were i bought it

The cord from the lamp/cooltube goes to your ballast.

Your ballasts should have one plug that goes to your wall outlet and one set of wires/plug that goes to your lamp/reflector. If not you have something wired wrong.

If your ballast cords are both male,1 for the wall and wire the female comming off your tube

i can't disconnect the cords from the ballast. thats the thing. look @ the pic i posted, that the ballast i have

Your ballast has 2 cords(front end view pic), one has a male household plug(heavy duty wires, grounded plug pic). The plug you see in the pic goes to the wall outlet. The other cord that you see int the front end view pic goes to your ballast. If these 2 cords are plugged in together unplug them and connect them as I have already stated. Ballast are quite simple 1 plug for electric power and one cord/plug for the lamp/light/.

I see 2 cords coming from your ballast. They should not be plugged in/connected together.

thanks Pcduck, however i tried to disconnect the 1 that goes to the socket, but it wont come out

Let get this straight . You have one cord that has an end piece that goes into your wall electric outlet? Correct? And you have another cord that goes to a socket?(where the light bulb screws into) Correct? Or is this completely wrong?

You have one cord that has an end piece that goes into your wall electric outlet? thats Right...........And you have another cord that goes to a socket? That is also right. but i dont see how to disconnect it from the ballast.

Y do you want to do that.I suggest running the ballest away from plants(mine outside tent),running the cord(not the 1 to the wall, the other)to the light, and either wiring up a male/female or (dangerous in high humidity)pig-tails,strait to and fro.

The cord that has the socket is the one that goes to the reflector. Either change out the socket on your reflector or buy an adapter. If this does not work, I would suggest you go to an electrician and have them cut the cord and then wire in the new reflector/lamp socket.

i just got the 6 inch cool tube. my ballest doesnt have a plug, it has a box that i wired a wall plug into and i had to cut the plug off the tube and strait wire it into the ballest. works fine and the ballest was cheaper that way. its a 1000 watt lumz- bloom naked box

thanx yall, ill think of something to docutting wires , is not an option for me, butif i can find some1 that know how then ill let them do it

Hey dirty, my ballest is not near my plants, that would add up in the heat build up. and im really dumb about electicity and too broke to get something fixed if i mess it up.. but ill think of something or some1 that can handle that for, but i got time sence i dont have the hood yet. and i may go with the euro reflecter
