400W MH distance?

hey guys..

im keeping my 400MH about 16 inches from the top of my 3 weeks plants , my temp is perfict its about 72-82 most the times its below 80s.

-should i take the lights little bit down? some friends recommended 10 or 11 inches but i didnt do it im afraid to burn the baibies.. what the distance you recommend with good temps??
and should i keep the distance bettwen plants and 400HPS same as 400MH or its diffirent?

you loose about 1000 lumen's per foot. are they stretching for light? with a good fan they can be even closer i like to tie a string to my lights about 13 inches long and i try to keep the end of the string right around the top cola i havent had any complaints since i started using this method the girls are singing and ******* up the rays

A general guideline for medium watt system is 12"-16". Use the back of your hand, if its warm, raise it slightly.
