Left Plants in the Wrong Hands (please help)

In my opinion, if feeding at every watering is what you want to do, you are much better off going hydro or some other form of inert media, which soil is not. You are missing the entire point of soil in the first place. I attempt to mimic nature, and lucky for me, here it does not rain nutes. I...

Left Plants in the Wrong Hands (please help)

So true 'Feeding constantly at the same level' is a pretty good description of hydro, but has nothing to do with growing in soil at all, especially organically. Most organic ferts are not readily available to the plant, and if you give them at every watering, there will be a mushroom cloud...

Been a while, just realized I never posted harvest pix. 5 plants, 250 watts of flouros, dry organic ferts in soil and water. Contemplating what to run next, will let you know soon. Peace and good karma.

    Organic PH Adjustment?

Dry citric acid, apple cider vinegar, bloodmeal, cottonseed meal, used coffee grounds, and worm casings will all lower ph organically. Nearly all nitrogen sources will. I would probably pick up some acid ferts or acid soil and add it carefully, either on top or by transplanting. Orchid or...

    Hermaphrodism

Some really good thoughts bouncing around...here's a few more... I grow sativas from seed soz I need my males, can't offer much help on the feminizing thing. I hassle my plants and have had my share of herms which is more the norm for sativas...as I understand it. Equatorial sativas are the...

    Choosing males for breeding...

I couldn't agree more. In actuality, breeding in small populations or (even worse) with single males (1:1) could be said to be killing the mj gene pool one allele at a time. The report is saying not to pick males at all...but pick their daughters. ;) The report is saying a male can only...

    Choosing males for breeding...

There have been alot of theories on how this is done....this is only one of them, but happens to be the one I agree with. Dunno who wrote this, I found it on another forum...just posting it because it sums up my methods better than I could.

Fertilizer: Organic (Natural) versus Chemical (Inorganic)

from malcolmbeck.com: The argument continues. The organic proponents say only organic should be used. The chemical proponents have their argument of high analysis and quicker availability. Why don't we consult Nature and see how she has been feeding plants life since the very beginning...

    Organic Soil?

Just wanted to add that here in the U.S. there are no restrictions on labeling of potting soils, meaning they can put 'organic' on the label if they want - no matter what is in it. Great advice already given in previous posts. If you can afford it or have a small grow and don't want to mix...
