[BIG TUTORIAL] How to lightproof a wardrobe (for real this time)

I want to share a few things I learned while struggling to convert a regular 21 x 34 x 77" wooden wardrobe (with 2 leaves) into a growbox. The goal is to prevent ANY light from leaking out and preserve the wardrobe's appearance so that it won't look suspicious at first glance. I'll address a...

Looking for a net now. Does it matter what it's made of? Is metal fine? I probably worry too much.

All right, then. I'll top and wait a week before switching to flower. Funny how this is now a race of sorts :) I'm looking for a net at the moment.

The plants are currently 27" (soil level to tip). The highest I can raise the lights is 50" (again, counting from soil up and NOT INCLUDING headroom). Damn. I'll switch to 12/12 and the bulb from MH to HPS tomorrow. I don't know about topping RIGHT BEFORE initiating the flowering stage, though...

So I just read this: https://weedkb.com/gorilla-glue-4-grow-journal-week-by-week/ Holy ****! I think I should switch to flowering ASAP because those bad boys just won't fit inside the box. I REALLY should've read more about this particular strain.

Today I cut off just a few small leaves at the very bottom of the stem because I'm afraid of ruining the plants. I'm still learning! Had I known what I know now, I would've planted just one plant and done all the tricks to get the most out of it. Topping at an early stage, pruning, bending...

Yeah, I know. I figured it would be better to have too many than too few. I have two questions: - is it OK to water the plant until there's runoff (in one sitting)? I just used 1,5L to water one and waited a few minutes to get a pH reading, but not a single drop came out. I don't want to flood...

7th week. They're both about 26" now. Air humidity inside the box is a bit low - only about 35%. Any ideas?

I have a Terra Aquatica kit (liquid + vial). Yesterday I had to move the plants out of the box for a few minutes to make some adjustments and I noticed that the one right below the bulb is significantly lighter than the other one. I guess that's what causing the clawing. The other plant is...

Tap water was about 6.0 last time I checked. I've been using 700mL of water a day per plant (about 3.7 gal of soil, which is BioBizz Light Mix). I mixed about 0.5mL/1L of pH+ and 0.4mL/1L of CalMg yesterday. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to use those daily.

Can you direct me to the thread/post with that information? I can't find it. Would you call a pH increase from 4.0 to 5.0 "a wild swing"?

There actually is a clearly visible yellow outline around those spots at the moment. I put one of the plants on a paint grid (see attachment) to get a proper pH reading because the bottom of the pot absorbs all runoff. The pH is still really low (about 4.0), so tomorrow I'm going to mix 1.5mL...

I ****** up the pH test yesterday by spilling some water into the trays. It mixed with the runoff. I'll repeat it today. I got some pH+ and CalMg. Keeping my fingers crossed! You can see some clawing in pic 2. Should I lift the light a bit?

Yeah, I looked at example pics of nutrient deficiencies and it does look like lack of calcium/magnesium may be the culprit. Also, let me remind you that when I tested the runoff in the 2nd week, the pH was around 4.0. I need to check it again. I haven't used any supplements yet. I have...

Thanks for the feedback. I want to repeat a question (I didn't get replies): is it OK if the inline fan is on only turned on alongside the lamp (18/6)? I'm asking because when the fan is on, the temperature drops a little bit. I just don't know how important CONSTANT ventilation is.

Well, my problem was that I had to take apart the small plastic buckets that I used instead of drinking cups. It was a lot more work and I had to be really careful not to obliterate them by accident. I use 700mL of water for each one (every day) and I will change the amount if I see anything...

So I transplanted them and put the fans next to them. It's been 24 hours and they seem to be doing OK. I have no idea when a plant shows signs of being "shocked", though. The breeze from the fans is weak. Maybe I'll post pics tomorrow!

Day 23 I unwrapped the pots and noticed that the roots have reached the walls. I'm moving the plants to fabric pots today. I want to use Rootbastic for the first couple of weeks, so I need some advice: Question 1: should I use it right after moving the plants? Or should I use plain water the...
