What is the lowest night temperature in your flower room?

I follow you obee-wan-Puppy, but what about the logic that mother nature subjects plants to low temps, and in some cases it encourages or supports the flower cycle? I've used the logic that the plant is stimulated to flower & finish because it thinks its going to die soon. It knows that from...

What is the lowest night temperature in your flower room?

Now that summer is over and cold air becomes available for free again, I have been revisiting my lights-off temperature in the flower room. Could folks chime in and mention what their best target temp is during lights out in a flower room? I usually aim for the low 60's or high 50's.

    Quick Question About Digital Ballasts

hXXp://www.lumatek.co.uk/index.php/products/electronic-ballasts.html Where is says for the 600 watt ballast: To light a 400W lamp; set control to 400W and boost output by 10% by switching to 400SL. To light a 600W lamp; set control to 600W and boost output by 10% by switching to 600SL or...

See...i Told You All It Was True!!!!!

My meter looks pretty darn stupid to me. If it looks like its getting any smarter I'll put my tried and true anti-alien aluminum foil hat on it.

Hook up the blower to suck air through from the filter. Don't try to blow air into the filter, just suck through it.

    Quick Question About Digital Ballasts

According to what Lumatek says, you can run a 250 by turning the ballast to 250 before you turn it on, ditto for a 600 watt. Just be careful to not switch it higher that the bulb is rated. However in another chunk of literature they said that you -had- to use the max wattage bulb for the...

    Quick Question About Digital Ballasts

You match the bulb to the ballast. Use a 600 watt and it can drive it at lower rates. You can switch between the levels with the system on, you don't have to turn it off to adjust.

    dont mention LED's

Yeah bro, but after 70 years those agro light scientists don't seem to have come up with a whole lot of new or unique solutions. Included in those 70 years NASA went wacko and spent millions on research of hydroponic horticulture and lighting in the 70's to the 90's. They use HIDs for their...

    dont mention LED's

Regardless whether LEDs work for growing I'm kinda surprised that no one has mentioned one of the better reasons for not considering them: because they are unnatural and simply do not replicate mother nature. To me the goal of the indoor grower is to try to achieve parity with mother nature...

See...i Told You All It Was True!!!!!

I am not jumping on the 'smart meters will kill you' bandwagon, but would point out that requiring a warrant has never stopped LEO from much of anything. Now in the days of 'Homeland Security' in the USA the requirements for warrants has turned into a joke. Warrantless tapping of phones and...

    i cant believe this stuff!!!!

Just because someone has an opinion different from your own does not mean they are 'close minded'. When the power companies really decide to roll out smart meters they will be mandatory and choice is simply not an issue. I personally think that smart meters are evil and don't want one...

    Ballast problem?

FWIW, its kinda easy to tell when its the capacitor. It will be "bulged" and look like its silver can is about to explode. Like a frozen car of beer. The ballast itself will often not look much different unless its metal windings are fried black or shows where electricity has arced and made...

    Ballast problem?

Sounds like your capacitor was bad and your hydroguy replaced it. There are only 2 components in a mag ballast halide light (ballast and capacitor), and 3 components in a sodium light (ballast, capacitor, and ignitor). Glad its fixed for you.
