It just don't get much better than that, if it does at all...which is subjective anyway. God, what amazing talent! Like Jimi...gone far too soon. Imagine if they were around today, the music they would make.

It's kinda weird. I thought they'd be too hot for me. I'm very comfy in flannel sheets even in summer. I wish we could clothesline dry them, but it'd be very difficult here. Fresh air dried sheets bring warm memories to me. I'm the heater in the bed...my wife has cold feet, legs, hands. She...

My wife bought a set of flannel sheets a couple years ago. I thought they'd be too hot, but they aren't. They're very, very comfortable. Even in summer. It's weird, but I like it pretty cool when I sleep, then I pull the covers up to my head. I also prefer a hot shower, year 'round.

Yeah, parts pricing is crazy. On the other hand, it was a 7 hour labor operation to replace a $40.00 temperature blend door motor on a Lincoln Town Car in the late 80's/early 90's. That included draining and refilling the cooling system and discharging and recharging the HVAC operations. I'm...

The labor rate when I started my career was $20.00/hour. Oil changes were $8.95, alignments were $19.95, and batteries cost around 30 bucks, if I recall correctly (and we had to add acid to them because they shipped dry). Several years ago when I left the field, our shop was getting...

If a customer insisted that I only repair one side, I'd refuse the job and send them packing. Pads, rotors, drums, hardware, calipers and wheel cylinders, always in pairs. If I couldn't do a thorough job, I'd refuse it. Brake repair ain't a guessing game. If Mr. Customer is too cheap to fix it...

Never replace brake components on just one side - one axle, yes. But both sides, always. If your left brake hose blew, chances are the right side isn't far behind. Same with locked up/defective brake calipers.

Don't feel bad. I'm a retired mechanic with no garage. I just paid a shop 1200 bucks to fix an oil leak and put a new radiator in my wife's car. Talk about suck.
