Can anyone say for certain if this is bud rot? It doesn't look like it to me, but it's rather concerning up close. I clipped off a good sized branch and have the trimmed buds in the dehydrator. Now I'm getting cold feet thinking about smoking some.

Hmm, continuous IR sounds like a better way to herm a plant you want reversed than silver nitrate. I wonder if they make more pollen that way.

I can put a makeshift greenhouse shell over it, and maybe an electric heater. I've done dumber things!

It's still hanging in there. And still no bud rot amazingly. I'm going to leave this thing alive after harvest. I'm half convinced it will survive the winter. The GOG is refusing to make amber trichomes. Maybe it knows what comes after... Still two more weeks minimum. And here's the...

    Phlizon Giveaway Comes Back!

I have to admit my ignorance here. I thought SMD = Surface Mount Device which would include the 1040 LEDS as well as some controlling devices??

    Can't hide this

I have vacuum sealed it in the past, and then tossed it in the freezer. I gave the last ounce away a few weeks ago from early 2021 and was told it was still tasty and strong. I have been thinking of doing that again this year since jars take up so much space.

Buds are starting to fill out some now as well. I'm still on the fence about when to harvest. I keep looking for bud rot, but haven't seen any so far. The few caterpillars I've picked off hadn't been there long enough to do any damage. Looking for them is my morning ritual lately. Good thing I...

How do you pull yourself out of the dumps?

Another new term, neurotypical! I could have used that growing up. Probably worth its cost in bloody noses.. People do have preconceived notions for sure. My wife is a sociology professor and didn't believe I could ever have had Asperger's. Even she didn't realize it doesn't ever go away, you...

How do you pull yourself out of the dumps?

I had Asperger's when I was young. I grew out of it in my teens, but I've always had a propensity to shut down and not go out or do the things I enjoy. I never heard the word anadonia before, but the definition sounds about right for what happens. I just call it fuckarounditus. For me, the...

It's strange watching the SF try to recover from my hasty relocating efforts. It has a LOT of amber trichomes now, and all of the original pistils are dark and curled. But there are still quite a few clear trichomes, and now new pistils are growing which I never noticed a plant do before. If the...

    Plant sudden collspse?

You can mist the leaves with water while you're working out the issues. At least some of that water will reach the buds. Does the watering system allow for switching one plant to just water, so it can be flushed?

I tossed all my lying meters in favor of a roll of simple test strip paper. It gives me the same answer with the same mix every time, the meters not so much.

    Humidity in Flower...Myth or Fact?

There are large greenhouses that mist the plants, seedling to flower, with a mix of water and peroxide to aid in cooling. It's cheaper than A/C and the peroxide apparently reduces the chance of PM or bud rot. I haven't seen numbers for RH in that environment, but it has to be much higher than...

Bugus Monkey's new and improved puzzle basement and various ramblings

I do the edges. I'm not sure if the goal is to open the seams for water to get in, or to weaken the shell to let the sprout out. With the stubborn SF seeds my experience is they need to sink in water over a couple of hours, or they need more sanding.

Bugus Monkey's new and improved puzzle basement and various ramblings

I keep them at room temperature in low humidity, and have popped some from 2020 not that long ago. The GDPA and SF seeds were from plants I pollinated and for sure the SF seeds have been troublesome in the past, but not the GDPA. I also had some tomato and pepper seeds leftover from seeds I...

Bugus Monkey's new and improved puzzle basement and various ramblings

I've been having issues getting seeds to pop lately as well. Not sure if I'm doing something different of if there's something wrong with the seeds. I tried starting 12 seeds last week, 8 GDPA and 4 SF, and only two GDPA made it. Trying again this week with sanded seeds and well water. I had...

I put up a frame with those green steel plant stakes and some assorted connectors I found on Amazon. The I added a couple of 4X4 nets which went about as well as you might expect with a full gown plant. A couple of branches definitely got bent too far, and one I had to tape to keep it from...
