Alright you experts! I found a few leaves eaten this morning and I'm affraid i don't like the situation. Any tips?

A buddy of mine gave a jar with some blackish/brown oil that he says is a concauction of fish dumplings. Anyone know about this? Should I use it? How much should I use?
