I **** at math, let me just say that right now. I am trying to figure out how much it would cost to run some lights because I was talking to smokingmom about it and I couldn't figure out the cost and now I am stuck on trying to figure it out. Once again, I **** at math so I have a few questions. Please correct me where I am wrong.
Just some basic questions here about lighting prices.
A killowatt hour is 1000 watts right?
A 27 watt bulb draws 27 watts in a single hour right?
So for a 27 watt bulb to pull down one killowatt hour it would take roughly 37 hours of constant operation right? (1000 / 27 = 37.xxxxxxx. . .)
So a light on for 540 hours would pull down 14.60 killowatt hours in 30 days right? (18 hours for 30 days 30 x 18 = 540) (540 / 37 = 14.59xxxx. . .)
@ 9 cents a killowatt hour that equals 1.31 per bulb for 540 hours, right? ( .09 x 14.60 = 1.314)
So 12 bulbs each on for 540 hours would pull in $15.77 in charges a month, right? (12 x 1.314 = 15.768)
MY HEAD HURTS!
