Okay tell me what you think. If you look at my journal you will see i was growing in a cabinet with CFL's.

I lost all my plants but one, I have put pics up of her now,,, shes a biggun!

I also started 4 Norther Flame and 4 Bublicious and 7 of the eight have sprouted and has thier first set of leave...

Please critique this one!!!!! I hope I am doing it right now!

Setup:
Box built of OSB board. 4X4X6 tall..... Inside is lined first with Foam board insulation and the drywall.

Light is a 600 watt MH/HPS Lumeteck air cooled light. supported by two bolts with nuts through the top of the box and a 2X4/ On a pully system.

Ventilation is 8 inch inline duct fan 380CFM pulling air through my light to the outside of the box. Doubleing as an exaust fan because it pulls from inside the room.

6500BTU window air conditioner set at 75 is installed.

I have aquestion about my big girl though, shes going to be much bigger than all the rest and I am flowering at the same time. I think I need to top and LST her for the next few weeks while the rest catch up. Se looks like she is going to have 6 main colas at this point.

Nice set up. I dig the A/C and the ventilation. Kick A**!

Hello my friend....looks like you have a flex hose going from ac unit threw the light and exits at the bottom of grow area...and I do not see any fresh air intake. ( ac units are not fresh air) also your odor sock how where does that start and finish..Good luck and KEEP M GREEN

what kinda tape is that, that your using? (electrical tape?)whats your temp in your box?..looks good

Thanks for the feedback.

The air intake does not pull from the A/C. The flex ducting hangs inside the room free from the intake side of the light then goes out the box at the top in the back. The big cylindar looking thing is my inline fan, pulling from the bottom and exausting at the top via the light..

Temps are 75-82 pretty constantly.

Dont have the Odor control setup yet. I was just thinking how I was going to do it.

YES AID its Duct Tape,,,,

I added a row of 26 watt 6500K CFL's. 6 CFL's in all to the back of the box. I put the seedlings under those in the room. They were stretching for the HPS......Lets see how this works.

hey for your box did u use anythings to seal off the cracks for the door? cause i have cracks in mine

I see the exhaust. The inline fan is pulling air from the room through your lamp outside ok. so your using your inline fan duel purpose which is cool. How are you getting fresh air into your grow space from outside though? You only have one inline fan? Unless you have your grow space door open to the room you have it in. Then everyone can see your light. I'd set up another inline fan like a 6in at the bottom floor underneath your a/c on the opposite side of your intake ducting for your lamp. Or you could cut a hole in the side and still use your 8in you have and hope you have enough suction to create a passive intake.

I didnt need to. I drilled a 4 inch hole in the bottom of the room. This is known as a "Passive" intake. There are no fans pulling because my exaust fan actually creates a vacum inside the room. this provides plenty of Fresh Air
and about the cracks in the door I just covered the box with a Tarp. this blocked the light in the places I couldnt seal

yes but would the cracks effect the vacum by the fan, ? and i cant use a tarp (long story)

then you would have to have a completely sealed unit.... You would have to seal the door in such a way as the box is light tight when closed up.. But you can still use passive intake if you have a vacuum in the room such as i do. If i let go of my door with it open it will suck closed....lol

but no the cracks in the door wont affect ventilation,,, it would be just more"passive" intake IMO

Ans in the pic the door is a little open so no there is not that much light pouring out of the door....

I gottcha New 2 Chronic Passive intake right on. Hey Im thinking of a setup like yours 4x4x6 but I cant decide on whether to use a 600w or 1000w im not going to be able to have a/c in the room because its in an apartment and im probably going to pop a circuit. Any ideas would be great.

I didnt use a damper.... i just used a hole saw cut a 4 inch hole in the bottom. I put a few layers of black screening on each side....cant see any light.
