Buy some fly stickies for the flying ones and this for the ones in the dirt that haven't hatched yet:

Diatomaceous Earth

A 1/4 inch layer of this on top of the soil after you water.

Your problem will disappear in just a few days.

Good luck to you!

they are not fruit flies..

they are scarid flies aka GNATS..

1. you are over watering.

2. use sticky paper to catch fliers (adults are nuissances and dont live long
they dont harm the plants. The young larvae in the soil eat at the roots.

3. get organic insecticide soap containing Pyrhenin (sp), and you can also
use play ground fine sand to top the soil.

Diamatris (sp) sand that Stony bud recommends probably is best, but isn't
readily available at stores.. must be mail ordered.

Goodluck..

i had the same problem! i put a 1 to 2 in layer of perlite on top of soil after treatment with neil oil or inc. soap!
